First Look: Dita Von Teese’s Glue-On Nails for Kiss!

Long before Behnaz Sarafpour and Jason Wu brought the reverse French mani roaring back into fashion, Dita Von Teese had perfected the look. “In the 30s, they created this style so red polish wouldn’t chip off at the tips,” said the milky-faced Burlesque star, who is launching a glue-on version of her iconic red and white mani with Kiss this fall (see a preview at right). So what does Dita think of all the attention moon manis are getting these days? “I don’t follow trends,” she told us at a Cointreau event yesterday, coquettishly sipping a “Marga-Dita” cocktail. “Since I was 20 years old, bitches been stealin’ my look.”

Nicole Richie (left) stayed cool in a breezy Mulberry blouse and jean shorts,while Alexa Chung (center) kept it simple in a white sundress and layered necklaces. And Kate Bosworth (right) went patriotic in a Topshop American flag tank, white hot shorts, and khaki shoes. Dita Von Teese’s Awesome Jewelry Storage Idea

With all the gorgeous jewelry spotted on the red carpet, we’re often left wondering, where does it go? That’s what we asked Dita Von Teese when we caught up with her at Vivienne Westwood’s store opening in Los Angeles last night. “I designed a special edition jewel box for Cointreau [liquor],” Von Teese (in a Vivienne Westwood dress and Philip Treacy hat) told us. “I keep my jewelry in there, but I have a really big collection of jewelry, so I also took picture frames and padded them with red velvet and I pin all the brooches on it, so they make wall art.” What a crafty idea! Celebrities have caught on to cobalt! Demi Moore wore the blue hue when she attended the Costume Designers Guild Awards in a strapless Vivienne Westwood gown last month, while Olivia Munn stepped out this weekend in an electric blue Marchesa dress belted with a matching sash. Abbie Cornish showed up to last week’s Sucker Punch premiere in a cobalt Amanda Wakeley frock, and Dita Von Teese stopped by Perez Hilton’s birthday bash on Saturday in a sequined Jenny Packham number. Heart Truth Red Dress Show: Celebrities Walk for a Cause

Celebrities kicked off New York Fashion Week last night by marching down the runway for a cause. Camila Alves, Cat Deeley, Suzanne Somers, Denise Richards, Dita Von Teese, Ann Curry, and more all wore red dresses by designers for The Heart Truth’s Red Dress Fashion Show, which raises awareness for the foundation that spreads information about heart disease for women on a national level. “As women, we’re all nurturers and caretakers,” Deeley, in Alberta Ferretti, told us before the show. “But you can’t do that unless you take care of yourself.” Click through the gallery to see all the celebrities who walked at The Heart Truth’s Red Dress Fashion Show!

Dita Von Teese Strips Down for Perrier

We love Dita Von Teese for her throwback glamour—and for putting burlesque back on the pop culture radar. Now, the corseted star (whose act is probably more closely associated with French champagne than sparkling water) has signed on as the face of high-end water Perrier. However it all makes sense when, in the commercial, Von Teese strips down to her skivvies (it’s nothing we haven’t seen before) and drenches herself in the bubbly beverage.
