Lupita Nyong’O continues to be one of our rising style icons — check out her glamorous red carpet ensembles if you need further proof — and the steely silver eye makeup she wore to an event in New York City is her latest look we’ll be trying out this week. “We were kind of inspired by Diana Ross in the Supremes,” said her makeup artist Nick Barose. “I also kept the lips pale, so the whole look has a slight ’60s, futuristic feel.” Barose used the pale grey shadow from Dior‘s 5-Color Designer Palette in Smoky Design ($60; dior.com) all over, then added slight definition along the crease. “Grey is a perfect neutral that looks dramatic, but not too out-there,” he told us. “There are more than 50 shades of grey, and you can go either light or dark. Since it’s a blend of black and white, it looks great against all skin tones.” The finishing touch came with a winged-out sweep of Dolce & Gabbana’s Glam Liner in black ($34; sephora.com). “Elongated liner is a great way to add drama to the eyes,” he added.
The days of girly pinks and boyish blues are long gone. Instead, the increasing intrigue with androgynous dressing means there are no hard and fast rules when it comes to what you can and cannot wear. Cue the line-up of celebrities who have eschewed flirty frocks in favor of sharp tuxedo vests (a la Olivia Palermo), power suits and tailored pieces. And let’s give credit where credit is due—our obsession for dapper styles became official when Jennifer Lawrence‘s fierce editorial spread in the fall-winter issue of Dior magazine came to light. From gold-button blazers to striped Oxford button-downs to wingtip brogues, channel the opposite sex with our 19 gentlemanly sartorial picks.
The clasp of a necklace is the least intriguing part — that’s why for spring 2014, designers decided to ditch the closure and keep neck wear open-ended. Think of it as a new take on a cuff: simple to throw on and open to endless design interpretations and styling possibilities. How many pieces can you really team with a poncho or a bralette? And even though there are no strings attached, these collar-clinging necklaces aren’t going anywhere. Emporio Armani and Dior took an asymmetrical approach to keeping the piece in place by performing a balancing act with beads and an architectural arrangement while others used artful extras as anchors: Chanel employed monumental pearls, Edun used clear-cut faceted stones, and Altuzarra put gilded coils to use. All of which prove that some things are better left undone.

A-listers have hit Paris to take in the sights (no, not the Eiffel Tower) at the most highly anticipated shows of the season and their equally covetable spring 2014 runway looks. Fashion Week frequenter Olivia Palermo was spotted at Dior looking her stylish self in mixed prints amid the show’s garden-esque backdrop. At Balenciaga, Salma Hayek (with hubby Francois-Henri Pinault in tow) managed to effortlessly epitomize “Parisian chic” with one look. Click through to see the celebrities — including Gemma Arterton, Lily Collins, and Olga Kurylenko — who are generating all the buzz at Paris Fashion Week from the front row. And even though we may be an Atlantic Ocean away, that energy and joie de vivre feels pretty close to home.
New York’s Fashion Week is already in full swing and Hollywood’s biggest stars have been making their presence known! On Friday, Jessica Biel was the host for the Dior and Saks Fifth Avenue dinner celebrating the brand’s Fall/Winter 2013 prêt-à-porter collection now available at the Fifth Avenue department store. Inside, the entire third floor was transformed into a hall of mirrors to showcase the winter collection along with inflatable mirror balls and live runway footage of the collection displayed on TV screens. The brand also took over Saks’ front window displays with visual installations that were inspired by the collection and custom made for the store. Guests included stylist and designer Rachel Zoe and her husband Rodger Berman, along with Ashley Madekwe, Maria Sharapova and more. Behind-the-Scenes at Robert Pattinson’s Dior Homme Campaign: Polished, Sexy and Classic, Just Like HimAug 20, 2013 @ 3:00 pm
We haven’t seen much of Robert Pattinson since the Golden Globes earlier this year, so seeing him in a sneak peek for his new Dior Homme cologne campaign is delightfully refreshing. Shot by artist Nan Goldin for Germany’s TUSH online, Pattinson’s video showcases behind-the-scenes snapshots, with New York City serving as the backdrop. The campaign will roll out in full starting in October, and if the teaser images are at all telling, we’re expecting it to be polished, sexy and classic — not unlike the scent’s amber, vetiver, and leather blend, or Rob himself for that matter. Watch the preview in the video above, and find the Dior Homme fragrance, priced from $60 to $80, at sephora.com.

Just like the technology used to develop the latest iPhone or laptop, skincare technology also goes under constant changes and updates. This year’s new crop of innovators is especially impressive — from Dior‘s potent anti-aging blend and Chanel‘s serums that sync up with your internal clock, to Clinique‘s updated version of a classic product. After researching the latest in complexion technology, we gathered the most cutting-edge skincare treatments of the summer. Click the photo to see the full list now!
The Vampire Diaries‘ Nina Dobrev celebrated her stylist, Ilaria Urbinati, at The Hollywood Reporter‘s Stylist Luncheon looking radiant as ever. That’s when we stopped the star mid-festivities to ask her just what she uses to maintain her dewy glow. “I love Dior’s mask—the Hydra-Life. I wear it every time before I have a red carpet [event]. It really makes your skin glow.” She also said that the cream is particularly hydrating during the summer months, so if you’re a girl who’s skin gets dry as temperatures rise, pick up a 2.5 oz. tube for $40 at dior.com to try Nina’s secret brew on yourself.
