Runway Looks We Love: Diane von Furstenberg

Feb 13, 2012 @ 3:05 pm

Diane von Furstenberg named her latest collection “Rendezvous,” and the designer’s bold jumpsuits and draped dresses looked perfect for just that! Vibrant colors took over the runway, often paired in high-contrast combos, while prints took a quirky turn with quotation marks, puzzle pieces and interlocking hand prints splashed across slinky dresses. In contrast to the relaxed silhouettes, the styling and accessories were sleek, with leather opera gloves, boxy oversized sunglasses, and minimalist black heels complementing each outfit. See our favorite looks in the gallery!

Red Heart Dress ShowGetty Images

Celebrities kicked off New York Fashion Week last night by strutting their stuff forThe Heart Truth’s Red Dress Collection 10th anniversary fashion show. Rebecca Romijn, Christie Brinkley, Chaka Khan and Minka Kelly were just a few of the famous faces who took turns down the runway in ruby designer dresses, helping to raise awareness about women’s heart disease. “This is so nerve-racking,” Kelly told InStyle.com before show, which was hosted by Diet Coke, Bobbi Brown, and Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spas. “I’m just focusing on not falling down. I’m going to think of Tyra Banks!” And she didn’t stumble one bit—rather, she flaunted her sequin-covered Diane Von Furstenberg gown fabulously, an accomplishment front-rowers (and Ty’s America’s Next Top Model besties) Jay Manuel and J. Alexander looked so proud of. See all of the celebrities who hit the runway in the gallery!

Diane Von Furstenberg Collaborates on a Line of Brazilets!

Dec 13, 2011 @ 5:12 pm

At a mere $5, brazilets might be the easiest way to make your wishes come true!  The brazilet is based on a 200-year old tradition from mystical Bahia, Brazil and is meant to be worn tied around the wrist in three knots—the wearer makes a wish associated with each knot and when the bracelet breaks and falls off, the wishes are supposed to come true.  Fans of the Brazilets include stars like Anne Hathaway, Lauren Conrad and Kristen Stewart, and now Live Worldly, which makes the bracelets, has teamed up with Diane Von Furstenberg on a line featuring signature DVF phrases, like “Be the Woman You Want to Be.”  Best yet, 20% of all the proceeds will be given to Plant a Billion Trees, which benefits the Brazilian rainforest when you buy them for $5 at liveworldly.com or Diane Von Furstenberg stores.

And if the charitable angle isn’t enough to tempt you, the site has great designers on board! Diane von Furstenberg  partnered with Girls Inc.—and Helmut Lang teamed up with Flying Kites Global.  Since all the funds raised are carefully, publicly tallied, these are some designer duds you can definitely feel good about.
