Heart Truth Red Dress Fashion Show: Celebrities Walk for a Cause!

Celebrities kicked off New York Fashion Week last night by strutting their stuff forThe Heart Truth’s Red Dress Collection 10th anniversary fashion show. Rebecca Romijn, Christie Brinkley, Chaka Khan and Minka Kelly were just a few of the famous faces who took turns down the runway in ruby designer dresses, helping to raise awareness about women’s heart disease. “This is so nerve-racking,” Kelly told InStyle.com before show, which was hosted by Diet Coke, Bobbi Brown, and Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spas. “I’m just focusing on not falling down. I’m going to think of Tyra Banks!” And she didn’t stumble one bit—rather, she flaunted her sequin-covered Diane Von Furstenberg gown fabulously, an accomplishment front-rowers (and Ty’s America’s Next Top Model besties) Jay Manuel and J. Runway Looks We Love: Diane von Furstenberg

Diane von Furstenberg described the woman she designed for as “wrapped in romantic silhouettes, an abstract garden of blooms against the cloud-kissed sky” for the spring 2012 collection. From her inspiration, a lineup blossomed with bright prints in neon coral, cherry, and electric blue on light-as-air fabrics. For evening, she frosted her patterns with sheer sequins for a dressed-up effervescent look. The designer personally adjusted each look before it went down the runway, and at the end, handed out American flags in honor of 9/11’s tenth anniversary for her front row guests—which included Oscar de la Renta and Valentino Garavani—to proudly wave.
