Watch Diane Kruger’s Life Come Alive for Jaeger Le-Coultre

May 13, 2013 @ 12:00 pm

Diane Kruger celebrated Reinvent Yourself, her new short film for the luxury watch brand Jaeger Le-Coultre, in New York City last week, and now you can watch the video she’s so proud of above. “It felt very authentic about my life and my friendship with Jaeger Le-Coultre,” Kruger told editors of the film over lunch of pan-seared bass and asparagus flan at the Rockefeller Center Loft and Garden. “It pieces together my professional life and my personal life, and I’m very grateful for that.” Therfore, you’ll see her life come alive, from her movie star moments, like swinging on a set, to some of her most vulnerable, like crying over a broken heart. “Everybody in life can relate to laughter or cry for joy or just that moment of something ending, so that was the inspiration there,” she explained. “I had a couple of sad thoughts going through my head on that one.” But, since the whole campaign focuses on reinvention, it ends on a very positive note. “You’re not just defined by your job, but also by the choices you make as a woman,” she added. “You can be anything, if you put your heart to it.” Watch it and get some inspiration for yourself.

Why Celebrities Love to Show Their Midriffs, According to Chloe Sevigny

Midriff tops make a bold fashion statement, but it’s a statement that everyone, including Diane Kruger (in Carven and Vanessa Bruno), Miley Cyrus (in Marc Jacobs), and Selena Gomez (in Dolce & Gabbana), is loving—and Chloe Sevigny hopes it stays that way. The American Horror Story actress, who wore her own cutout creation (vintage Chloe by Karl Lagerfeld) to Barneys Celebrates 60 Years of Chloe at the department store in New York, loves the look because she believes it gives people a chance to breakout from “playing it safe” with their style. “I think that you shouldn’t be afraid of being an individual,” Sevigny told InStyle.com. “People are so afraid of criticism, especially from all of the tabloid magazines and stuff, but I think that the InStyles of the world always seem to celebrate individuality more, so I just keep that in mind.” So true, Chloe!

It’s Movie Night! Why You Should Go See Diane Kruger’s New Film The Host

Attention Twilight fans! Stephenie Meyer, the mastermind behind Bella and Edward’s epic vampire love story, has another book-turned-movie hitting big screens nationwide tonight. The Host stars Diane Kruger as The Seeker, a member of an invading race that intends to overtake humanity by inhabiting their bodies and erasing their memories. Saoirse Ronan plays opposite Kruger as Melanie, the leader of a group resisting the invasion. “To me, the movie’s about—when we take all of that passion and emotion out of the world, what do we really have left?” Ronan told InStyle.com at a New York screening of the film, hosted by The Cinema Society. “It’s very much about love versus attraction, which can be very different things.” Kruger will agree—there’s something for everyone. “I would say that people who like Twilight or Stephenie Meyer’s work will definitely enjoy the romance part of the movie, but there is actually a lot of action in this film, too,” she said. “I think that’s the thing about movies, everyone can get something out of it.” Sounds like an out-of-this-world combo to us! Last Night’s Parties: Diane Kruger and Saoirse Ronan Attend Screen The Host

Mar 28, 2013 @ 3:30 pm

After debuting their new movie The Host last week in Los Angeles, co-stars Saoirse Ronan (in Proenza Schouler) and Diane Kruger (in Chanel) reconnected in New York City for a screening hosted by The Cinema Society and Jaeger-LeCoultre at the Tribeca Grand Hotel. “To me it’s very much about the planet and love versus attraction, which can be two very different things,” said Ronan, who plays a girl torn between her two hunky co-stars Jack Abel and Max Irons in a time when aliens are trying to use humans as “host” bodies. “And when we take all of that passion and emotion out of the world, what do we really have left?” To answer that question you’ll have to see the movie! The Host opens nationwide tomorrow.
