Products With a Purpose: Viktor & Rolf’s Bracelet to Benefit the Fifty Nine Foundation

Apr 1, 2013 @ 12:45 pm

Viktor & Rolf has giving back in mind this spring with the release of this lucite bangle with an interior painted in robin’s egg lacquer, a dainty detail we adore. Another element we love: all the profits from the $195 bracelet benefit the Fifty Nine Foundation, which works to spread awareness of the dangers associated with brain aneurysms. The piece is very limited-edition—only 45 were made—and you can place your order by calling the Dallas store Forty Five Ten at 214-559-4510.

Jennifer Lawrence likes to wear her fair share of LBDs (honestly, who doesn’t?), though we’d like to take a moment to point out that this young star looks great in color—any color. The Hunger Games leading lady headed to last year’s SAG Awards in hot pink Oscar de la Renta, hit last week’s Berlin premiere of her action movie in red Marchesa, shimmered in gold Prabal Gurung at the Los Angeles Games premiere, stepped out in forest green Calvin Klein in New York last night, presented at the People’s Choice Awards in electric blue Viktor & Rolf, and spoke with David Letterman in navy-violet Altuzarra. For someone who usually likes neutrals, bright hues suit her well! Tell us: What’s your favorite color to wear?

What’s the secret behind Jessica Chastain’s red-carpet style? Each look is perfectly planned, thanks to her stylist Elizabeth Stewart. “She knows me so well,” Chastain told InStyle.com of her fashion hero, an industry veteran who has also worked with Cate Blanchett, Jennifer Lawrence, Freida Pinto, and Amanda Seyfried. “She knows that I love color. I also like things that have an old-fashion vibe to them. I love celebrating a woman’s body and femininity. So she knows what to pull.” Just take a look at some of her vibrant choices above (from left, Viktor & Rolf, Roland Mouret, Balenciaga, and Karen Caldwell), and see more of Chastain’s recent red carpet fashion show in the gallery.

Red-Carpet Trend: Kissed by a Rose

Feb 16, 2011 @ 10:47 am

Everything’s coming up roses on the red carpet. Rihanna performed at the Brit Awards in London last night wearing an ivory and red silk carnation-embroidered gown by Oscar de la Renta, a look from the designer’s spring collection. And she’s not the only one who fell in love with the flower recently. Thandie Newton wore a pink rose-printed Monique Lhuillier gown to the BAFTA Awards over the weekend, and Natalie Portman famously wore a pink Viktor & Rolf gown with a Swarovski-encrusted red rose to the Golden Globes in January. What better time than Valentine’s Day week to see a love-inspired trend on the red carpet?
