Beyoncé kicked off her Mrs. Carter Show World Tour last night in Belgrade, Serbia, and for those of you just as obsessed with Bey’s elaborate stage fashion as her girl power anthems, you’ll be satisfied. She delivered costumes by DSquared2, Emilio Pucci, Julien Macdonald, The Blonds, and Ralph & Russo, and shoes by Stuart Weitzman (who also designed her pumps for her glitzy, Vegas-themed show at Revel in Atlantic City last summer). “Dressing someone like Beyoncé is beyond great,” Pucci creative director Peter Dundas told InStyle.com. “She’s an incredible mix of beauty, artistry, and just pure energy. Watching her rehearse before our midnight fittings made me want to run home and sketch!  She’s a true icon and doing the costumes for her show was a privilege for me and for Emilio Pucci.” Click the photo above to see more looks from the show, and click here to find out where she’s performing near you.

Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge has a bunch of events coming up on her social calendar—a baby on the way isn’t stopping her!—so, we’re doing some style prep for the Princess by picking out a look we’d like to see her wear for her next photo op. On deck: a night out on the town with Prince William. Here’s what we’d love to see her in when she takes a night off from her royal duties.

INSPIRATION
The gray embellished Matthew Williamson dress she wore to the London premiere of African Cats in 2012.

PICKS
Topshop’s ($390 at topshop.com) light gray beaded shift dress is an updated alternative for Kate as her bump continues to grow. The pearl embellishment along the sleeves and collar adds elegance, while the baby doll silhouette offers comfort, without sacrificing style. To finish off the look, pair the dress with black patent leather round toe pumps by Stuart Weitzman ($325 at stuartweitzman.com) and a coordinating rectangular clutch by Diane von Furstenberg ($395 at bloomingdales.com).

Cinderella Heads to Broadway in Custom Stuart Weitzman Glass Slippers

Feb 8, 2013 @ 6:16 pm

Cinderella is headed to Broadwaythe musical officially opens March 3—and with it, her long-lost glass slipper gets a major designer overhaul. Stuart Weitzman teamed up with the costume designers behind the show to create a modern version of the iconic footwear, a Plexiglas design encrusted with more than 5,000 iridescent Swarovski crystals. “This is not a traditional Cinderella shoe,” Weitzman told InStyle.com. “It had to stand out. It couldn’t be a clear glass slipper from the fairytale or even the front row wouldn’t be able to see it!” And his princess-worthy designs aren’t just for the stage. Weitzman designed a capsule collection of special occasion shoes named “Clearly Timeless,” all inspired by the Broadway show. Shop the Cinderella collection at stuartweitzman.com. The only thing missing is Prince Charming!

James Franco’s Stuart Weitzman Video: Watch It Here

Oct 24, 2012 @ 12:40 pm

Writer-director-actor James Franco teamed up with shoe designer Stuart Weitzman to create a series of four vignettes entitled “Walking After Midnight,” starring supermodel and Dancing With the Stars alum Petra Nemcova. The first debuted at the beginning of the month with Nemcova showing off the latest stiletto and boot styles, and now Weitzman and Franco are giving InStyle.com a first look at the entire film, which you can watch above. Inspired by the ‘80s cult classic film Mondo New York, Franco’s piece shows Nemcova striding through the largely-deserted streets and clubs of New York to a modern remake of a Patsy Kline song, also titled “Walking After Midnight,” by the band Girl in a Coma. “I had heard about Petra before the shoot, and after seeing her images I knew she would be great,” Franco told InStyle.com of working the model, who he dressed in a wedding-inspired veil and lingerie for part of the video. “She was a pleasure. She was up for anything and nothing could faze her. She has a pure spirit and great natural beauty. I’d work with her again in a second.” Watch Franco’s work in the clip above.

Famed fashion photographer Mario Testino celebrated his first-ever U.S. museum show last night at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, where shoe designer Stuart Weitzman—Testino shot the footwear giant’s recent ad campaign—co-hosted (along with Swarovski) the likes of Gisele Bündchen, whose image is featured in the exhibit. “Mario’s work over the past three decades speaks for itself,” Weitzman told InStyle.com exclusively. “His photographs have the uncanny ability to transcend the page, and capture the true essence of fashion and glamour. [Testino's] advertising campaign for Stuart Weitzman has made a profound impact on the brand, and helped us to expand globally, seducing women around the world. We are incredibly honored to share in the celebration.” The two-part photo exhibition, dubbed In Your Face and British Royal Portraits, opens this Sunday (October 21) and runs through February 3 and June 16, respectively. On display are some of Testino’s most memorable shots, like Madonna‘s Ray of Light album cover, InStyle cover girl Gwyneth Paltrow dancing in a Paris hotel room, and, of course, numerous shots of our favorite royals, including Kate Middleton and Prince William. Visit mfa.org for more information on how you can see the iconic images.

Watch the Film James Franco Directed for Stuart Weitzman

Oct 4, 2012 @ 4:26 pm

Is there anything James Franco can’t do? Stuart Weitzman hired the actor-director-writer-graduate-student to create a series of four vignettes entitled “Walking After Midnight,” starring supermodel and Dancing With the Stars alum Petra Nemcova. The first vignette, called “The Backflip,” was released on the Stuart Weitzman Facebook page (watch it above), and the subsequent three will debut there as well—one every Wednesday through October. Set to a modern re-make of Patsy Kline’s song of the same name, the shorts show Nemcova wearing the brand’s signature stilettos and boots as she strides through the largely deserted streets of New York. The goal is to demonstrate that “that no matter how high the heel, Stuart Weitzman stilettos can take you from day to night,” according to a statement from the brand. (It’s true: Stuart’s shoes are really comfortable—just ask Kate Middleton!) Check out the clip above and keep an eye out for more to come.
