Heidi Klum, Taylor Momsen, and Hannah Simone were among the many stars who came out to celebrate the reveal of Donatella Versace’s two new collections for Versus Versace Wednesday night at the Lexington Avenue Armory in New York City. The event stood out for showcasing both London designer J.W. Anderson’s one-off capsule collection for the brand, as well as a revamped archival line for Versus Versace. Combining both music and fashion, the models showed off the looks in groups as musical acts—including Grimes, Angel Haze and Dead Sara—performed throughout. “The launch of Versus Versace brought together everything that I love: fashion, music, DJs, young people and their amazing energy,” Donatella said. “This mix of music and fashion captures the essence of Versus Versace, a label for a new global tribe.” Shop the Versus Versace line now at versusversace.com and J.W. Anderson’s capsule collection come June 15. Plus, see more of last night’s parties by clicking the photo above.

Emma Stone’s Best Look so Far — According To Her Stylist

The stars stepped out in bulk to celebrate their stylists at THR‘s Top Stylist Luncheon last week! And while these dressing mavens see their famous clients ’round the clock, we were charmed to discover that even Petra Flannery, who styles Emma Stone, Zoe Saldana, and Claire Danes, gets starstruck when she sees one of her actresses in the perfect look. Her top 2013 looks so far: Danes at the Golden Globes in Versace Couture. “It was made and we were only able to try it on the night before! It was such a triumphant moment to have it all work out.” She also loved Saldana, who stood by her stylist’s side throughout the event, in that ruffled Alexis Mabille dress for this year’s Oscars. And finally, she told us that she adored Stone’s all-red Lanvin look for the Gangster Squad premiere. “It was one of those moments where the more you started adding, the better it got,” she said, referencing the addition of crimson heels and a ruby necklace. “It was a glamorous ’80s look, but because she’s modern and fresh and youthful, she pulled it off.” And we agreed—all of these ensembles made their way into our Look of the Day roundup!

Check out more of the looks we’ve loved in our Look of the Day lookbook.

Donatella Versace Reveals the Most Forgiving Material EVER

Mar 1, 2013 @ 1:30 pm

Donatella Versace has dressed almost every A-lister, including Angelina Jolie at the 2012 Golden Globes (shown), and she’s learned more than a thing or two about style along the way. ”I have never met a woman, no matter how beautiful, who isn’t insecure about her body, so my designs are body conscious in ways that complement female curves,” she says in InStyle‘s March issue. “What matters first is to use fabrics and proportions that make a woman feel secure and noticed. I love lightweight wool crepe, shiny jersey, and satin, all of which let you cut clothes close to the body without clinging. Jersey is so forgiving—and it’s the easiest material to wear.” And that’s not her only fashion lesson! Flip to page 239 of InStyle‘s March issue for more, or download the issue for your tablet so you can read it anywhere.

The Oscars may have dominated the air waves this weekend, but that doesn’t mean we forgot Milan Fashion Week! InStyle‘s Fashion Director Cindy Weber Cleary spent the whole weekend in Italy at the shows, and she sent us her favorite look from each day, starting with Versace (center). “Donatella went wild with her neo-punk theme for fall 2013, but rock stars and sex symbols alike will fight over this fierce vinyl look,” Weber declared. Runway Looks We Love: Versace

Feb 23, 2013 @ 7:30 am

Anyone looking for something edgy this Fashion Week, look no further then Versace‘s fall runway show! Donatella Versace was at her sexiest this season with animal prints, chains and studs adorning the sultry collection. Suits plunged (often patent leather for extra va-va-va-voom), dresses looked slim, and spikes covered everything! Even the red carpet-worthy gowns featured these elements, with strategic cutouts and sky-high slits ensuring Versace’s woman would heat up any event, day or night. See our favorite looks in the gallery.
