Jennifer Lawrence Made Someone in Prabal Gurung’s Family Very Proud
May 7, 2012 @ 2:40 pmJennifer Lawrence chose a few pieces by Prabal Gurung for her Hunger Games tour in March, which put a big smile on the New York designer’s face. “She’s kind of the girl who I design for,” Gurung told InStyle.com at the opening of Nicholas Kirkwood’s Manhattan store. “She’s young, beautiful, and she makes smart choices about films.” He worked with her to get each metallic look just right, saying each “fit perfectly.” “The only hard part was me wondering ‘Is she really going to wear it?’” he said. So, when she did slip into Gurung’s gold lame gown for the Hollywood premiere, he was thrilled, along with someone else: “It made me look like a really, really cool uncle to my 5-year-old niece!”
