May 10, 2013 @ 5:15 pm

Oscar de la Renta teamed up with Paperless Post to launch a collection of stationery, and he pulled his inspiration straight from the vibrant designs that cascaded down the runway at his fall 2013 fashion show. Case in point: The colorful long-sleeved ODLR frock Zoe Saldana wore in London this week is one of the prints featured in the stationery form, in options for both online sending and snail mail (starting at $2.09 a piece). The offering also boasts designs that can be used for weddings, children’s invitations, entertaining, and the all-important personal stationery. Head to paperlesspost.com to check it out.

Bridal Launches You’ll Love: Oscar de la Renta’s Fragrance and Carolina Herrera’s Wedding Blog

Apr 22, 2013 @ 6:00 pm

It’s Spring 2014 Bridal Market week in New York, and there are more than just beautiful new dresses making their debuts—bridal designers Oscar de la Renta and Carolina Herrera launched new additions to the wedding party. Oscar de la Renta’s new bridal fragrance, appropriately named Something Blue, is now available on bloomingdales.com. The perfume includes notes of mandarin orange, linden blossom, and bourbon vanilla, and it’s so lovely you don’t need to be a bride to wear it. Carolina Herrera also just launched The Carolina Herrera Bride, a weddings-only blog designed to provide inspiration for the newly engaged, doling out advice about everything from veils to bouquets from Herrera herself. Click here to check it out.

Dressing Kate Middleton: What the Mom-to-Be Should Wear to Her Next Garden Party

Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge has a busy social calendar—a baby on the way isn’t stopping her!—so, we’re doing some style prep for the Princess by picking out a look we’d like to see her wear for her next big event. With spring sprung, here’s what we’d like to see her wear to a festive garden party.

INSPIRATION
The pink pleated Emilia Wickstead dress she wore in celebration of Queen Elizabeth’s Diamond Jubilee in 2012.

PICKS
Oscar de la Renta’s ($2,490 at net-a-porter.com) silk chiffon dress in spring-ready chartreuse is a perfect option for a garden fete, as its layered skirt allows for movement and gives her expanding baby bump room to grow. Plus, the Duchess can easily wear this dress post-pregnancy by cinching her waist with the removable belt. To top off the look, add a Nerida Fraiman headpiece ($466 at lovehats.com), a shimmering baguette clutch from Jimmy Choo ($750 at neimanmarcus.com), and finish it off with nude patent leather pointed toe pumps by Sam Edelman ($110 at shopbop.com).

Exclusive The Good Wife Fashion Details: Season 4, Episode 18

Mar 25, 2013 @ 4:00 pm
Good WifeCourtesy Photos

A new episode of The Good Wife premiered last night, in which the entire cast had to put on their best black-tie attire in support of the Chicago Shamrock Dinner. Julianna Margulies’s character Alicia Florrick spent the entire episode (and nine days of shooting!) in a beautiful two-tone gown by Lanvin (which was plucked from the racks of Neiman Marcus), while on-screen husband Peter (Chris Noth) looked stately in a tailsuit—one costume designer Daniel Lawson bought online!—and boss Diane Lockhart (Christine Baranski) came off completely judicial in a bold blue Oscar de la Renta dress pulled from the floor of Bergdorf Goodman. “For me, to see the whole thing on screen brought tears to my eyes and Julianna just looked so luminescent,” said Lawson, who worked tirelessly to dress 70 people (including the Cardinal and the waiters, too!) for this television event. “It was only the second formal event we ever had to dress the cast for,” Lawson noted, “and we wanted it to be very special.” Get all the exclusive details on last night’s looks he picked in the gallery, and follow Lawson on Twitter @GoodWifeFashion for the latest updates.

Emmy Rossum’s Dorothy-Inspired Outfit for the Oz Premiere

Mar 6, 2013 @ 1:15 pm

Emmy Rossum stepped into the wonderful world of Oz at last night’s screening of Oz the Great and Powerful in New York, hosted by Gucci and The Cinema Society, by wearing a look inspired by the story’s heroine, Dorothy. “It’s Oscar de la Renta,” she said of her silk dress, an aquamarine design embroidered with three-dimensional flowers. “I would say it’s a little Oz-inspired.” She chose it after looking at the designer’s pre-fall 2013 collection online—she famously styles herself, handpicks her outfits, and emails designers—and pulled the look straight from the runway (“I loved it!” she added). She topped it off with ODLR’s ivy and aqua satin pumps—though, we think red sparkly shoes would have also been a fitting option.

Jessica Biel turns 31 today! Justin Timberlake’s better half often makes our Look of the Day list choosing stylish pieces even the designers themselves fawn over. “Jessica is a great chameleon,” Giambattista Valli, the man behind Biel’s gorgeous pink wedding dress, told InStyle. “She can do the Venice Beach surfer look one minute and divine diva the next.” And whether she’s wearing separates, shifts, or stunning gowns, the birthday girl always looks fashionable in her red carpet styles.
