There were effortless separates (think ultra-flattering trousers and tough-chic tanks) perfect for 9-to-5, and sexy slipdresses for an evening out. Serena co-stars Jennifer Lawrence (in Narciso Rodriguez) and Bradley Cooper reunited at the Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s annual installation luncheon, held at the Beverly Hills Hotel. Cooper kicked off the afternoon by introducing the HFPA’s President, while Mad Men star Christina Hendricks accepted grants on behalf of documentary programs. Narciso Rodriguez debuted his first-ever line of bags and shoes during his fall 2012 fashion show, revealing luxe, minimal, wearable clutches, day bags, boots, and pumps. As for the clothes—which front rowers Gloria Estefan and Claire Danes both gushed over—the lineup included fluid silk dresses and body-hugging tweed bustiers in an autumnal palette with shades of orange, brick, and tangerine. The designer also spliced shiny and matte fabrics together to create unique silhouettes, and the sweeping trains trailing some of the gowns added understated drama. Narciso Rodriguez’s spring 2012 collection was filled with clean, crisp and modern looks. Moments of intense orange interjected into the palette of white, black, aqua and silver, colors that also showed up in the brushed-back hairstyles covered in purple, sky blue, and tangerine hues.
