Monique Lhuillier sent a collection of 15 dresses down the runway for her spring 2014 bridal collection full of clean shapes and beautiful fabrics. As she told editors, her inspiration was to fit the needs of every bride, “from City Hall to the altar, whether there are hundreds of guests or just two.” The result was a broad but streamlined range, complete with sleeves and strapless, colors and ivory, gowns, and minis. Those shorter hemlines also served a second function—showing off the designer’s beautiful bridal shoes collection. Yet, while she played with new silhouettes and materials, like jacquard, the dresses were still classic Lhuillier, as show-stopping ballgowns covered in lace and tulle stole the show. Kate Beckinsale (in Monique Lhuillier) and Jennifer Aniston came out to celebrate celebrity yoga instructor Mandy Inger—the woman behind their enviable figures—at the launch of her book Yogalosophy: 28 Days to the Ultimate Mind-Body Makeover at the Soho House in West Hollywood. The book offers a 28-day plan to help readers achieve healthier bodies and happier minds with a mix of workouts, eating guidelines, and more. “Mandy brought yoga into my life,” Aniston endorses on the book’s cover. “This workout will change your body and your mind.” If this means we can look like Jen and Kate, we’re in! Spring’s finally in the air, and our editors are celebrating with a vibrant and cheery crop of Instagrams! This week we got a bright floral idea at Jen Kao’s studio, reflected upon Victoria Beckham‘s mirrored sunnies, and sparkled alongside Monique Lhuillier‘s models at the designer’s fall preview. The nuptials for Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux seem to be planned for the not-too-distant future, as revealed by People.com today, and we can’t wait to see what this fashion superstar chooses to wear for her big day. That’s why we’re making our predictions now, choosing pieces inspired by the actress’s go-to red carpet silhouettes, like high-low hemlines (like this Monique Lhuillier piece), full skirts (courtesy of Valentino‘s couture collection), and two-tone hues (a lovely look created by Dior Haute Couture). Click through the gallery to see eight wedding-worthy styles we’d love to see on Jennifer when she says “I do.”
The Academy Awards are not only a huge night for those nominated, but also for the designers who dress them! During New York Fashion Week, we asked designers to tell us which gowns from their fall 2013 collections they’d love to see on the Oscars’ red carpet, and all of them were quick to give us their top picks. “I’m sure any designer would love to have a great Oscars moment!” Christian Siriano told InStyle.com when we caught up with him backstage at his show. “There are so many actresses that I love and support.” Indeed! Click through to see the exact gowns Siriano, plus (from left to right) Zac Posen, Jenny Packham, Monique Lhuillier, Badgley Mischka, and more picked—and keep your eyes on our red carpet coverage, starting this Sunday at 6 pm, to see what Jessica Chastain, Jennifer Lawrence, Anne Hathaway, and all the other nominees choose to wear for their big night!
Two things are guaranteed at a Monique Lhuillier runway show: Chic separates for day and dramatic gowns for evening. The designer delivered on both for her fall collection, which she told showgowers “played off undulating lines, art deco motifs, and intensely rich jewel tones such as deep malachite green, oxblood, and amethyst.” After a series of winter white cable knits and structured toppers, came those beaded, lace and, tulle red carpet-ready gowns the label has become known for, many of which would be just as much at home on the Oscars red carpet as they were on the Monique Lhuillier runway. Pantone’s Color of the Year is lush Emerald Green, and no one is loving it more than Monique Lhuillier! The designer debuted her fall 2013 collection last night, and it boasted no less than six looks in varying shades of green, with red carpet-ready embellishments like sequins, pleating, and embroidery. And according to the celebrity favorite, it was all coincidental. “I was looking at a malachite stone, and I was so mesmerized by the green that I wanted to incorporate it into a lot of things. And I loved it so much—and I have actually loved it for several years—that I used it as a set backdrop, too,” said Lhuillier, who also featured the same deep jade in her jewelry and shoe collections this season. “When we were doing fittings, I had read in Women’s Wear Daily that Pantone said it was the Color of the Year, so I thought, ‘Well, that works out beautifully.’” Indeed it did!

Julianne Hough did double dress duty at last night’s Golden Globe Awards! The dancer-turned-actress attended the show in a gorgeous cream Monique Lhuillier ballgown with gold embellishments, and a unique one-of-a-kind earcuff made of a fossilized carob beetle! After the show, Hough changed into a sleeker, more party-ready number by Jenny Packham for the InStyle after-party. Hough flaunted her figure in the curve skimming blush-hued gown, which featured silk panels and exaggerated shoulders. However, her dress didn’t last past the dance floor! “I love to dance regardless of how expensive a dress may be… You can’t hold me down!!!” Hough tweeted along with a picture of her ripped dress. Tell us: which look is your favorite? Vote in the poll below!
