Jason Wu to Launch Lancome Collection: In Stores This Fall

Feb 1, 2013 @ 4:37 pm

Following in the footsteps of Alber Ebaz and Chris Benz, Jason Wu is teaming up with Lancôme to create a line of beauty products. ”What was so intriguing about partnering with Lancôme, beyond the quality and luxury of their products, is the notion that the brand doesn’t impose a model of beauty but rather invites women to embrace themselves,” Wu said in a statement. And the designer, who recently dressed First Lady Michelle Obama for the Presidential Inauguration, understands this beauty philosophy well. “This is the embodiment of a truly sexy, modern and confident woman,” he continued. “Much like the women I design for.” The beauty line will arrive in stores in September.

Michelle Obama’s Two Jason Wu Inaugural Gowns: Which Do You Like Better?

Jan 22, 2013 @ 10:33 am

While her husband was being sworn in as President of the United States yesterday during his inauguration, Michelle Obama had the world wondering: what designer would she choose for the Commander-in-Chief’s Inaugural Ball? When she hit the dance floor last night in Washington, D.C., her choice was clear: following her 2009 stunner, she once again went with American designer Jason WuThis year’s gown, in ruby chiffon and velvet, stands in contrast to the ivory one she wore to the same event in 2009. Wu was clearly over the moon to see the First Lady wearing his design again: as soon as she stepped out in red, he tweeted,#InShock!” The designer also visited NBC’s Today show this morning, where he explained that he and his team “were glued to the screen” to see which design Mrs. Obama would choose. “I wanted to really represent her with the best of my ability,” he added. So tell us: which gown do you like better? Vote below!

It’s been a big year so far for Jack Reacher actress Rosamund Pike! Following in the footsteps of Emily Mortimer, Tom Cruise’s co-star is the newest face for British brand (and Kate Middleton favorite) L.K. Bennett. The star looks casual and cool in the first image from the brand’s Spring/Summer 2013 campaign, wearing a crisp white button-up and a black leather skirt. Meanwhile, Stephanie Seymour has a brand new modeling gig! Jason Wu just put her in the ad campaigns for his Spring 2013 collection, and Seymour looks as sultry as ever in lots of black, mesh, and lace. The premiere image was shot by fashion veterans Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin.

Critics’ Choice Awards 2013: Jason Wu Approved Jaime King’s Look

Jan 11, 2013 @ 12:09 pm

Jaime King’s close relationship with Jason Wu comes in handy during awards season! At last night’s Critics’ Choice Movie Awards, she wore a look from the designer’s new pre-fall collection, which he debuted a month ago. “I saw the look and freaked out and called him and said I had to have it,” the Hart of Dixie star told InStyle.com. “We talked on the phone about what we should do for hair and make-up. We went for a whole Jerry Hall vibe. I sent him approval pictures on the way here!” Does she always pow-wow with her pal for advice? “Absolutely!” she said. “I feel like you have to honor their vision and what they do. You can do your own twist as well, but I love designers so much that I like having that close relationship with them and wearing their clothes as they intend.” What a great partnership!
