Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge has been busy lately—a baby on the way isn’t stopping her!—so, we’re doing some style prep for Princess’s growing bump by picking out a look we’d like to see her wear for her next outing. With Kate experimenting with prints this week in an Erdem design, we’ve tasked ourselves with finding pieces with fun patterns to complement her changing figure. Scroll down to see our three picks.

INSPIRATION
The Erdem floral shift dress she wore to help launch a new school counseling program at the Willows Primary School in Manchester, England.

A TWO-TONE PRINTED WRAP DRESS
Diane von Furstenberg‘s abstract printed dress ($365 at dvf.com) in her classic wrap style is sure to flatter her figure. Plus, the Duchess has a proven herself fan of DVF by wearing her dresses and clutches for past occasions.

A FRESH FLORAL SHIFT
The floral pattern of Erdem‘s funky shift ($675 at matchesfashion.com) makes for a stylish option in one of her favorite color palettes.

A GRAPHIC FROCK
The rouched detailing of L.K. Bennett‘s design ($395 at lkbennett.com) gives her expanding bump room to grow, and the graphic print adds a fun touch to a traditional style.

The most adorable launch of the year is now in stores: Diane von Furstenberg’s collection for GapKids and babyGap! One year after the designer’s first collaboration with the retailer debuted, she returns to deliver another collection full of mini-me pieces, and this time, she’s inspired by the “natural explorer” inside each child—think African-inspired safari prints and wild animal illustrations on rompers, wrap dresses, shorts, swimwear, and accessories, all with DVF’s bright and cheery touch. “It was a lot of fun to design a children’s collection and I am glad to repeat this year,” said von Furstenberg. “This time it is all about adventure, with the same attention to color and print. I think the result is playful and perfect for the little explorers of the world.” Shop the collection for the adventurous little girl in your life by heading to a local GapKids or babyGap near you or head to gap.com browse and buy online.

Diane von Furstenberg Celebrates Women at the 4th Annual DVF Awards, Plus More Parties

Apr 8, 2013 @ 3:45 pm

Diane von Furstenberg made her first appearance since getting in an accident (she’s stylishly recovering in a DVF-print-covered sling) for the 4th Annual DVF Awards, held at the United Nations in New York City last Friday, where her presence radiated empowering messages. “I don’t think that you need the word powerful if you say woman,” designer told InStyle.com before honoring five women who have made it their life’s work to help other women and award $50,000 grants to their corresponding non-profits. This year she honored Vodianova, Robin Roberts, Andeisha Farid of the Afghan Child Education and Care Organization, Sunitha Krishnan of the anti-trafficking organization Prajwala, and Tammy Tibbetts, who received the People’s Voice Award for her education charity She’s the First. Von Furstenberg continued to emphasize the strength of women when she took the stage to address the crowd: “I have never met a woman who is not strong,” she said. “They don’t exist. Sometimes they’re not allowed to show their strength by a father, a brother, a religion, or sometimes they don’t even know that they’re strong, but then tragedy happens and miraculously the strength always comes out of a woman.” To learn more about the DVF Awards head to the dvfawards.com. Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge has a bunch of events coming up on her social calendar—a baby on the way isn’t stopping her!—so, we’re doing some style prep for the Princess by picking out a look we’d like to see her wear for her next photo op. On deck: a night out on the town with Prince William. Here’s what we’d love to see her in when she takes a night off from her royal duties.

INSPIRATION
The gray embellished Matthew Williamson dress she wore to the London premiere of African Cats in 2012.

PICKS
Topshop’s ($390 at topshop.com) light gray beaded shift dress is an updated alternative for Kate as her bump continues to grow. The pearl embellishment along the sleeves and collar adds elegance, while the baby doll silhouette offers comfort, without sacrificing style. To finish off the look, pair the dress with black patent leather round toe pumps by Stuart Weitzman ($325 at stuartweitzman.com) and a coordinating rectangular clutch by Diane von Furstenberg ($395 at bloomingdales.com).
