Country’s brightest stars aligned last night for the 2013 CMA Awards in Nashville, with Miranda Lambert, Taylor Swift, and newcomer Kacey Musgraves donning their most glamorous ensembles for their walk down the red carpet. Lambert and Swift were pretty in primary colors (Swift went for a dramatic red Elie Saab couture gown to match her trademark crimson lip, with Lambert opting for a royal blue Roberto Cavalli number). Musgraves, who took home the award for Best New Artist, stunned in an illusion Blumarine dress and a sparkly Swarovski clutch. One of our favorite performances of the night — aside from the cast of Duck Dynasty covering “Blurred Lines” — was when Kenny Rogers and Jennifer Nettles did a duet of “Islands in the Stream” and “The Gambler,” proving the timeless quality of both songs. Miranda Lambert in particular had a lot to celebrate: Her husband Blake Shelton was awarded Album of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year, while Lambert herself received the honor of Female Vocalist of the Year for the fourth time! “I can’t believe I’m up here holding this right now, but I’m gonna try to represent for all the females who that want to be up-and-comers and just want to get their country voice out there,” she said in her heartfelt acceptance speech. “There’s room for all of us girls, and we’re a team, and we’re gonna stick together.” So sweet, and so well-deserved!
Is the end of squeezing into spandex-tight jeans nearing? It’s not entirely over, but there is a shift happening. Stars including Milla Jovovich (in Giorgio Armani), Solange Knowles (in Roberto Cavalli), Nicole Richie (in Balmain) and Elizabeth Olsen (in The Row) have adopted a more comfortable (read: roomier) alternative to too-tight skinnies with wide-leg pants. Ever since designers like Chloe and Proenza Schouler sent the wide-leg silhouette down the runway last year, the relaxed fit has become popular both on and off the red carpet. To find the right one for you, look for a pair that sits easily at the hips. The hem should skim the ground, revealing just the tips of your shoes (this may require alterations). Team a tee with a linen fabric for a casual weekend brunch look or don a blouse and blazer with a silk or satin pair for a dressier occasion. Kim Kardashian and Kanye West revealed they’ll be welcoming a baby girl on last night’s season eight premiere of Keeping up with the Kardashians. YES. A GIRL. “I’m so excited we’re having a girl! Who doesn’t want a girl? I think they are the best,” Kim said on the show. “I know that’s really what Kanye has always wanted—he wanted a little girl.” This means K & K are in a prime spot to turn their baby into a little fashion princess. We predict their little bundle of joy will have no shortage of access to baby Roberto Cavalli, mini Gucci, and more pint-size designer clothes. Click to see our shopping picks for baby Kimye. The countdown to her July homecoming is on!
It doesn’t get more glamorous than this at Cannes! The annual amfAR Cinema Against Aids Gala is traditionally the biggest red carpet event of the Cannes Film Festival, and the turnout at last night’s 20th anniversary of the event didn’t disappoint. Olivia Palermo (in Roberto Cavalli), Jessica Chastain (in Saint Laurent), Heidi Klum (in Marchesa), and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley (in Dior), all came for the festivities to raise awareness and funds for amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research, which is dedicated to research, prevention, and education for the disease. The night included dinner, dancing, and, as a special treat, a live fashion show sponsored by the World Gold Council’s LoveGold initiative where 38 models walked the runway in glittering gold designs for The Ultimate Gold Collection Fashion Show. As the Cannes Film Festival heads towards its final weekend, the stars are amping up the style! Emily Blunt is decked out in metallic Burberry Prorsum as InStyle’s May cover girl! The no-nonsense star lives up to her name in our new exclusive interview, as she gives us her unfiltered thoughts on her style, her husband, and what she really thinks of acting in Hollywood. “I see Hollywood as a bubble that you pop your head into every now and again,” she told us. “I never get fully immersed in it.” But when she does—she goes full tilt. Up next, you’ll see her alongside Colin Firth in the bittersweet odd-couple movie Arthur Newman (out April 26) and her first action flick, co-starring Tom Cruise of all people, All You Need Is Kill (out March 2014). In the meantime, she has another co-star, her real-life partner, husband John Krasinski. “Meeting John really changed my life,” she said. “When I feel the support that I have from him, I feel invincible. There’s someone behind you on your good days, and someone in front of you on your bad days.” And that’s not all—be sure to get the full interview and see more photographs when the new May issue hits newsstands—or download it to your iPad, Nook, or Droid tablet—starting this Friday, April 19.

Roberto Cavalli is launching a new fragrance! Starting in March, the designer will roll out his Just Cavalli scent, which features Georgia May Jagger in the campaign. “I think the perfume was born under the right star, because Georgia is very sweet, young, and positive, just like the fragrance,” Cavalli told InStyle.com of the neroli, tiare flower, and palissander wood mix. But long before Jagger became the face of the scent, the designer looked to his Just Cavalli line for inspiration. “The perfume is part of my fashion, but fragrance is also part of your body,” he added. “In all my stores, I apply a little bit of perfume to the garments because it’s so important to make the scent right for the dress.” Find Just Cavalli at Macy’s and macys.com in March, priced from $45 to $75.

Kellan Lutz has a new best friend: Roberto Cavalli! “We love Roberto!” Lutz told InStyle.com at last night’s Hollywood premiere of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2, where he and Australian girlfriend Sharni Vinson both wore looks by the Italian designer. “I met him in Milan,” Lutz added. “We said to him, ‘We would be honored if we could wear something of yours.’ Then we got fitted in Milan—which is crazy to think. We had my suit and her dress months ago!” And their relationship has grown since. “He opened his house and arms up to us,” Lutz explained. “We got to hang out with him in St. Tropez. He’s a good friend now.” See… Edward doesn’t have all the fun!
