Vera Wang just rolled out her new bridal, bridesmaids, and accessories styles for her White line, stocked exclusively at David’s Bridal, and it’s full of looks for the modern bride that cost a fraction of what one of her runway designs would. The collection is in stores just in time for fall ceremonies and features the same elements Wang is known for, including textured organza, grosgrain sashes, crystal embellishments, and crinkled chiffon. And it’s trendy: Two new colors are available within the five new bridal gowns, priced at $728 to $1,348, silver (Sterling) and beige gray (Oyster). Wang also released several new bridesmaid dress options for $158 to $198—yes, these can actually be worn again—and an array of accessories, like veils and sashes. Zac Posen’s first collection for David’s Bridal doesn’t come out until next February, but the designer is already giving a sneak peek at what to expect through his Instagram (@zac_posen). Lace, bows, tulle, satin covered buttons and pleats populate his feed, giving us a preview of the bridal, bridesmaids, and special occasion dresses to come. Click to preview the designs now—bridal styles will range from $850 to $1,350 and special occasions dresses for $195 to $225—and stay tuned for more updates as we gear up for the launch early next spring.
This is the best thing to happen to David’s Bridal since Vera Wang: Zac Posen just announced he’s doing a collection for the bridal retailer. The collaboration, named Truly Zac Posen, will include bridal styles for $850 to $1,350 and special occasion looks (think bridesmaids and beyond) for $195 to $225. “David’s Bridal brings shared vision and incomparable expertise in the category,” Posen says in a statement. “From our first meeting regarding inspiration and design direction, our desire to offer high-fashion, glamorous design at an affordable price-point was clearly in alignment. From there, ‘Truly Zac Posen’ was born.” The lineup will include gowns in ivory and “a touch of portobello,” he promises, as well as special occasion dresses in neutral and seasonal colors. Judging from the all-white gowns that have sashayed down his runway, some of which are shown here, we can’t wait to see how he’ll integrate his bold glamour and feminine silhouettes into looks fit for walking down an aisle. His first collection will be available in stores and online starting February 2014. And, like Vera Wang’s David’s Bridal collection, new styles will be released throughout the year. Vera Wang has never been afraid of color when it comes to bridalwear, and this season, she’s bringing some rainbow hues to her collection for David’s Bridal. During our recent trip to preview the not-yet-released White by Vera Wang looks at the designer’s showroom, we spotted this ombre blush ballgown, which also featured a plunging back and antique jeweled corsage at the hip. Coupled with Anne Hathaway’s hand-painted wedding dress, we get the feeling that we’ll be seeing a lot of pink coming down the aisle in the near future! If the pastel pink ballet slippers color is too bold, the tulle design also comes in stone (a muted gray) or all-over ivory. Best of all, the design will sell for $1,348 when it debuts at David’s Bridal later this year, along with five other new, budget-friendly styles.
