Dallas Season 2 Finale! What Elena and More Wore in Episodes 14 and 15

Apr 16, 2013 @ 8:30 am

Last night was a special one for fans of TNT’s soap opera-esque Dallas revival with the premiere of two all-new episodes, the second of which was the epic two-hour season two finale! The main question asked over the past two seasons, “Who killed J.R.?” was finally answered (no spoilers here!), setting the stage for a third season full of new alliances, friendships, and (of course) enemies. Meanwhile, Elena got prepared to meet Christopher’s mother, but the revelation of a shocking secret surprisingly drove the two apart. “I wanted to put Elena is a dress that felt like it could go from traveling right into the potential special moment of meeting her future mother-in-law,” the show’s costume designer, Rachel Sage Kunin, told InStyle.com. “Of course things didn’t go quite as planned, but at least she was ready!” Oh, the drama! Dallas Season 2, Episodes 12 and 13: Pamela’s Stunning Emerald Earrings, and More!

Apr 9, 2013 @ 7:30 am

Last night was a special one for fans of TNT’s soap opera-esque Dallas revival with the premiere of two all-new episodes. The first, “A Call to Arms,” showed the Ewing clan in full battle mode after nearly bringing Ewing Energies to the verge of collapse. Immediately following, “Love and Family” followed Pamela as she attempted to carefully manage her delicate relationships with John Ross and Christopher. And she did so with style: These stunning emerald earrings were a necessity for all her power-demanding scenes. “When an amazing piece of fine jewelry is called for, I take it seriously,” costume designer Rachel Sage Kunin told InStyle.com. “These incredible emerald and diamond earrings are from Takat Jewels. They sparkle, they show up and they are super special. There could really only be one better gift from her billionaire father: loyalty.” Learn more about the styles you saw on Dallas last night by clicking the photo.

Dallas Season 2, Episode 11: Emma’s Equestrian Riding Jacket (and More!)

Apr 2, 2013 @ 11:15 am

On last night’s episode of TNT’s Dallas, “Let Me In,” a conspiracy emerged aiming to pin Christopher as the scapegoat for recent events and to cripple Ewing Energies. While the drama rose to a fever pitch, the show’s fashion continued on its new turn from last week’s rebellious episode. “Emma’s brown leather jacket from Baretta became a signature look for her many horse back rides on Southfork Ranch,” the show’s costume designer, Rachel Sage Kunin, told InStyle.com of Emma’s sleek look. “Here, Emma has just finished her ride and finds herself, once again, flirting with Drew Ramos. What a web she weaves!” Click below to see more looks from last night’s Dallas!

Dallas’s Costume Designer Curated a Collection for HSN: Preview It Now!

Apr 1, 2013 @ 4:00 pm

The fashion on TNT’s Dallas matches the mega-watt drama the show’s known for: statement necklaces, high heels, and bright colors are staples in the wardrobes of characters like Sue Ellen (Linda Gray), Ann Ewing (Brenda Strong), and Pamela Barnes (Julie Gonzalo). And thanks to a new HSN collection curated by the show’s costume designer (and friend to InStyle) Rachel Sage Kunin, you can have your own pieces of the Big Texas fashion you see on the show. Sage Kunin picked out the most Dallas-y HSN items and put them all in one place, including an Ann Ewing-inspired Joan Boyce double-stranded pearl necklace ($40, shown, right), a Sue Ellen-inspired houndstooth-printed dress by Serena Williams ($60), and Pamela-inspired blue snake-print Vince Camuto heels ($98). Head over to hsn.com to start shopping the picks now, and tune into HSN tomorrow night at 9/8c to catch Sage Kunin discussing how viewers can achieve the look of Dallas themselves. (That’s worth tuning in for, y’all!) And be sure to switch the channel to TNT tonight at 9/8c to see what the Ewings and the rest of the crew are up to!

Dallas Season 2, Episode 10: Emma’s Rebellious Makeover (and More!)

Mar 26, 2013 @ 6:00 pm

Last night’s episode of Dallas, “Guilt and Innocence,” marked the beginning of Emma’s (Emma Bell) transformation into a rebel, and costume designer Rachel Sage Kunin made sure her costume showcased the pivotal moment. “Emma is transitioning from a sheltered good girl into a rebellious character who has a few crosses to bear,” Sage Kunin explained to InStyle.com. “This cranberry, short-sleeve fitted sweater was an intentional choice to start showing off a more alluring side. As Emma comes into her own, clothing will reflect those changes.” We can’t wait to see what she wears next! Click for more looks from last night’s Dallas.

Dallas Season 2, Episode 9 Fashion: Elena’s Red Hugo Boss Coat (and More!)

Mar 20, 2013 @ 3:49 pm

Dallas had a celebratory moment Monday night with the opening of the new drill site—and that’s why costume designer Rachel Sage Kunin knew she wanted Jordana Brewster‘s Elena (with Jesse Metcalfe’s Christopher and Patrick Duffy’s Bobby) in the bold hue. “Elena is popping in this red Hugo Boss overcoat,” Sage Kunin told InStyle.com. “The inauguration for the alternative energy drill site called for celebratory color. I knew the weather was going to be cold so finding something bright but warm was a must.” Click through for more from Sage Kunin on last episode’s looks.

Dallas Season 2, Episode 8: What They Wore to Say Goodbye to J.R. Ewing

Mar 12, 2013 @ 1:30 pm

Last night’s Dallas was an emotional hour—the series said goodbye to its iconic iron patriarch, J.R. Ewing, a character played by the late Larry Hagman in both the original and sequel series. To honor both J.R. and Hagman, costume designer Rachel Sage Kunin made sure that each actors’ memorial look just right. “This is a significant occasion that required the utmost attention to detail,” said Sage Kunin. “The Valentino jacket that Elena is wearing has a dark brocaded body and black paillettes around the neckline. Thanks to Jordana Brewster, Elena has a knack for keeping pieces looking feminine yet still strong.” Click through for more from last night’s Dallas.

Dallas Season 2, Epsiode 7: The Designer Behind Pamela’s Leather Coat

Mar 5, 2013 @ 2:55 pm

The latest episode of Dallas aired last night, and it featured Julie Gonzalo’s Pamela still trying to conceal her growing baby bump—and she did, thanks to the handy work of costume designer Rachel Sage Kunin. “Pamela is wearing a red sweater dress with this great Mackage black coat. I love that she has the baby bump, but it’s disguised by the shape of the swing coat,” said Sage Kunin. “The wool body with leather sleeves makes this a perfect choice for Pamela.” Perhaps because it’s just as fierce as the leading lady.
