Katharine McPhee had her fair share of pool time at Coachella, and she looked super cute all the while, taking a dip in a teeny black bikini and oversized sunnies at the Guess Hotel Pool Party. Coachella Begins! See Diane Kruger, Katy Perry, and More Stars

The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Annual Festival kicked off this weekend, and the stars all headed to Indio, California to take in the music, the sights, and the parties. Diane Kruger and Joshua Jackson helped H&M host a giant kick-off bash, aptly called H&M Loves Music; Katy Perry (in Dolce & Gabbana) was surrounded by McDonald’s at the launch of its new Premium McWrap at the Bootsy Bellows House; and The Carrie Diaries star AnnaSophia Robb (in Lacoste) and Victoria’s Secret Angel Alessandra Ambrosio celebrated the fourth annual Lacoste L!ve pool party, complete with giant lego crocodile. Click the photo above to see the rest of the stars who have been stylishly soaking up the festival atmosphere!

Katy Perry’s New Hair Color: “Purple Velvet”

Are there any hair colors Katy Perry can’t pull off? The singer, who dyed her strands blue in January, revealed a new amethyst ’do at the Coachella Music Festival on Friday. “Her new color is what I call purple velvet,” her colorist Rita Hazan told InStyle.com exclusively. “It’s dark and rich. It’s very punk rock. I love creating colors for her because she always knows how to rock it!” And this isn’t the first time Perry tried The Color Purple—she wore a soft lavender hue on our October cover.
