Hollywood Hair Trend: Prom Tendrils

You don’t need a gown or a date in a rented tux to be the belle of the ball! Kendall Jenner, Sophia Bush, Chloe Moretz, and Gabrielle Union all wore prom-inspired updos that aren’t at all cheesy, thanks to a few loose, face-framing tendrils. Try the look yourself by pulling out a few layers around your face after securing your style. Just loosely wrap strands around a medium-barrel curling iron, twisting the curl outward. Be sure not to wind hair too tight, the goal is to create touchable waves, not tight, structured ringlets. And hairspray is optional—as your tendrils become more undone, a new, prom queen-worthy look takes shape.

If you can’t wait for the Jason Wu for Target capsule collection, you’re not the only one! Blake Lively, Emmy Rossum, Jaime King and Chloe Moretz were among the celebrities who toasted to the collaboration at the opening of a Jason Wu for Target pop-up store in New York last night, all wearing pieces from the lineup. “I get so excited when I see women wear my clothes,” Wu told us on the red carpet. “I’m such a nerd, I go up to them and I tell them that they look really great even though they don’t know who I am. I just think that for somebody to purchase something that I designed, at any price, is a true compliment and true testament to what I do.” We agree! Chloe Moretz Got Her Very First Chanel Bags at 14

When we caught up with Chloe Grace Moretz in October, the 14-year-old actress told us her mother didn’t allow her to buy designer clothes. That is still the case, she confirmed to InStyle.com this month, only with a few exceptions. “No, [I can’t buy designer clothes], but Chanel gave me my first two Chanel purses ever!” the Hugo star told us, shown here wearing a Chanel LBD. “One is the more modern version of the classic one. It’s got the accordion bottom and red interior. It’s beautiful! Then my other one is a little leather clutch. It’s so pretty and so classic. I love them.” So why is she so excited over her new luxury goods? “I love Chanel because it’s so classic and iconic. You can say Chanel to anyone in the world in any different language, and they’ll know what it is.” What a lucky teen!
