They may have a troubling on-screen mother-daughter relationship in Carrie, the film based on Stephen King’s horror tale, but off-screen, Julianne Moore and Chloe Moretz have shared some adorable red carpet moments! From celebrating Moore’s star ceremony on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, where they both wore Dolce & Gabbana dresses, to the red carpet for the world premiere of Carrie where they matched in long gowns (Moore chose a white draped Givenchy dress and Moretz went for a sheer forest-green Valentino dress) these two make a great pair. The Carrie remake starring Chloe Moretz hits theaters nationwide on October 18, but between the premieres and impromptu coffee shop pranks by the crew, the film is already making quite the buzz. At the screening in Hollywood last night, Moretz coordinated the deep tones of her Valentino gown with her studded nail art, and we loved the look so much, we tracked down the exact products she used! “Chloe wanted an Earth-toned polish and this color jumped out at us right away,” said her manicurist Christina Aviles, who used Sephora’s Formula X lacquer in Perfection. “It’s a darker taupe that looks great on any skin tone, and was just a beautiful complement to the colors in her gown. We added the studs to enhance her chic and sophisticated look.” After layering on the base coat, color, and two swipes of clear top coat, Aviles applied the black studs to each nail by pressing the 3D element into the slightly wet lacquer in lieu of nail glue. Julianne Moore and Chloe Moretz were a sight to see at last night’s premiere of their film, Carrie, at ArcLight Cinemas in Hollywood: Moore, in a white draped Givenchy dress, was joined by her on-screen daughter wearing a sheer forest-green Valentino gown. Unlike their characters in the update to Stephen King’s horror tale, the actresses looked very much like a loving mother-daughter duo! In the film, Moretz plays Carrie White, a shy high-schooler who is both bullied by her classmates and abused by her overpowering mother (Moore), and soon discovers she has telekinetic powers. Kimberly Peirce directed the film — the second film adaptation following the 1976 version — which opens in theaters on October 18th.

H&M is truly unstoppable! After the affordable brand everyone knows and loves tapped Lana Del Rey for their fall 2012 campaign, convinced David Beckham to model in his skivvies, and dressed Michelle Williams, Ginnifer Goodwin, and, most recently, Helen Hunt (at the Oscars, no less!), the brand went beyond its scope to present its first-ever fashion show during Paris Fashion Week yesterday, attended by the likes of Ashley Olsen, Emma Roberts, and Chloe Moretz. “I’m so excited to be here right now,” said Moretz. “I think that H&M doing this show during Paris Fashion Week puts H&M in a whole new light.” And Roberts added, “I wear it all the time, it’s so wearable and easy to mix. The show was so cool.” The show also served a purpose: Giving fans a look into what to expect in stores this fall, including tailored blazers, chunky knit sweaterdresses, over-the-knee boots, and even a loose black gown—the kind we could see Olsen wearing to her next big event. So, would you wear these H&M pieces next season?

Major changes are underway at Yves Saint Laurent! Hedi Slimane, the brand-new creative director of the iconic label loved by celebrities like Freida Pinto, Emmy Rossum, Salma Hayek, and Chloe Moretz, plans to change the brand’s name to Saint Laurent Paris, WWD confirmed. “This change celebrates our legacy and heritage, while boldly marking our ambition for the future,” Saint Laurent Paris CEO Paul Deneve said in a statement. “It will allow us to return to the fundamentals of YSL and revive the spirit and the intentions that reigned over the creation of ‘Saint Laurent Rive Gauche’ in 1966: principles of youth, freedom, and modernity.” Slimane will introduce the new moniker when he shows his spring 2013 collection this September. As for the infamous YSL logo? That’s not going anywhere—the label will continue to use it under the new name.
