It’s Cher’s Birthday! See Her Transformation

May 20, 2012 @ 3:00 pm

When it comes to Cher, the regular rules don’t apply. Born Cherilyn Sarkisian, she was a bride by 18, a number one pop star by 19 and a TV star by 25. It was during her stint on The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour, that she developed her signature style with the aid of designer Bob Mackie and an ocean of faux locks. The Golden Globe nominees for Best Original Song aren’t usually on our short list of favorites the way the nominees for Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress are, but things are different this year! All five nominees are Hollywood (and/or Nashville) heavyweights like Gwyneth Paltrow, Christina Aguilera and Cher. And while the tunes usually aren’t performed at the Golden Globes, we’re hoping the Hollywood Foreign Press Association can find time for them in the show this year. Check out the complete list of Best Song nominees in the gallery.

Tell Us: Who Wore the Most Outrageous Outfit at the VMAs?

While some stars opted for simple, pretty dresses at last night’s Video Music Awards, many others kept the tradition of shocking style moments alive. Nicki Minaj rocked out in tons of brightly colored spandex, Ke$ha sourced her dress material (garbage bags) from Home Depot, Lady Gaga’s final outfit (which she donned to accept Video of the Year) was a dress made of meat(!) courtesy of designer Franc Fernandez, Cher channeled her “Turn Back Time” days in a sheer body stocking and Rihanna sported a fiery bob complete with headdress while performing on-stage with Eminem. Take the poll after the jump, then tell us whose outfit you liked best in the comments section below! More
