Ciao, Milan Fashion Week! But before we head off to Paris, here’s our wrap-up: At Moschino, mod makeup had its moment, while the duo behind Dolce & Gabbana played with unexpected materials like wicker and raffia (with a sexy twist, of course!). And over at Giorgio Armani, superstar athlete Serena Williams sat front row. Check out more highlights from Milan in the gallery!

Andy Murray Wins the US Open!

Sep 11, 2012 @ 11:06 am

In the final match of the US Open Tennis Championships last night, Britain’s Andy Murray claimed victory over Serbia’s Novak Djokovic to take home the coveted trophy. His title win ends the UK’s 76-yearlong drought waiting for a male Grand Slam singles victor. Murray also made it to the final round at Wimbledon earlier this year, and took home a gold medal at the London Olympics this summer. His win comes just after Serena Williams claimed the same title for the ladies. Congrats to both of them!

Serena Williams Wins the US Open!

Sep 10, 2012 @ 10:43 am

Congratulations are in order for Serena Williams, who took home the coveted title at the 2012 US Open Tennis Championship this weekend. The win gave Williams her second grand slam title in 2012 (and her fourth career US Open title, according to The New York Times), after winning at Wimbledon earlier this year. She earned the title after defeating Belaruse’s Victoria Azarenka on Sunday. Going into the match, Williams was ranked World No. 4, while Azarenka was ranked World No. 1, which qualifies the outcome as a bit of an upset. We’re happy for Serena (who is often known for donning outrageous outfits for competition) and hope she spends some time celebrating!

Found It! Venus Williams’s Floral EleVen US Open Look

Sep 4, 2012 @ 5:40 pm

Venus Williams and sister Serena may have lost their doubles match at the US Open Tennis Championships yesterday, but when it comes to court style, they win hands-down. Venus recently wore this cute tank-skirt combination during competition, and you can snag it, too! The rose-print tank is part of a limited-edition capsule collection for her sportswear line, EleVen by Venus. (She’ll debut her full spring/summer collection during New York Fashion Week, which begins Thursday.) You can grab the top for $51 at tennis-warehouse.com, as well as the matching skirt Venus wore in melon, which is $52 and available here. A cool bonus: on the inside hem of the top is a screen-printed inspirational message from Venus: In her handwriting, it says, “Oh & oh, beat ‘em!” You don’t even have to be a tennis player to love that.

Plus, shop more star style!

The fiercest women in tennis have overtaken the borough of Queens for the US Open Tennis Championships, and we’re keeping a close eye on the looks the ladies chose for the competition! Serena Williams and Russia’s Maria Sharapova (when she’s not too busy launching her own candy line, Sugarpova) stepped onto the courts in feminine pink hues, while neon made a strong showing across the board, like on American Maria Sanchez. Click through the gallery to see more of this year’s outfits, and stay tuned to see more looks as the competition progresses, from now through September 9th.
