Nicki Minaj, who often makes headlines for her colorful and outrageous fashion choices, has brought her bold taste to a new line of clothing and accessories: The Nicki Minaj Collection. Available at Kmart and ShopYourWay, the line includes items like color blocked skirts, deconstructed jean jackets, a brocade print bomber jacket, and body conscious neon dresses — all true to the rapper’s own style. The collection was partially inspired by several of Minaj’s favorite brands like Versace, Juicy Couture, and Hervé Léger, but her biggest source of inspiration was her Barbz (what she calls her fans). Her goal was to create pieces that they would want to wear, and we think she more than succeeded! With loud prints, bright hues, and edgy studs, this collection certainly shares the “Starships” singer’s unique hip hop style. Shop the line now at Kmart and shopyourway.com, and check out our favorite looks from Nicki Minaj’s collection in the gallery.
Designer: Herve Leger by Max Azria
Location: Theater, Lincoln Center
Notable guest(s): Nicki Minaj, Giuliana Rancic
What was it like: Models marched down the white-and-gold runway to the reverberating beat of drums, which perfectly coincided with the overall theme of the show: “a new urban aesthetic.”
Why we love this collection: Herve Leger is famously known for its skin-skimming bandage-like dresses, but this time around, new shapes were created with peplum detailing and layered ruffles that accentuated curves, elevating the traditional bodycon dress to new heights. Plus, there were zippers, corset belts, geometric prints and more!
The secret’s out, Nicki Minaj is launching a second fragrance! The star kept fans in anticipation this morning when she announced she’d be revealing a surprise on Twitter and Instagram. In the 11 a.m. EST hour, she unveiled the bottle for her upcoming scent, Minajesty. “Minajesty smells like a passionate love affair,” the rapper wrote. “Mysterious and sexy. An unforgettable and hypnotizing scent.” And according to Minaj, a “passionate love affair” is a sensual blend of peach, red currant, magnolia, and vanilla. Just like her previous fragrance, Minajesty boasts a very self-reflective flacon, but is dressed up in brand new duds — namely the red number she wore for her 2012 Super Bowl performance. When one of her fans asked why she chose that outfit, the singer replied that she was “just feeling red at the time.” Find Minajesty in stores for $60 starting in September.

The 2013 BET Awards were a big night for music, and an even bigger night for fashion! To kick off the stylish red carpet, the ever-adorable Quvenzhane Wallis paired her frilly printed dress with her trademark puppy purse, while Jordin Sparks, Nicki Minaj, and Gabrielle Union lined the venue in couture offerings. Mariah Carey and Justin Timberlake each took the stage later in the night to give stellar performances, and in preparation for the big event, Sparks went for a spontaneous color change. “I changed my hair last night — I literally dyed it last night with this color,” she told InStyle on her caramel highlights. “I really wanted a change and needed the carpet to push me to do it.” That’s the spirit!
