Ralph Lauren Launches RL Vintage Shopping Site

Nov 16, 2012 @ 2:30 pm

Ralph Lauren has just launched a new online shopping destination. The site, RL Vintage, subscribes to Lauren’s design philosophy, which is rooted in his fondness for history. “I have always loved things that are timeless and get better with age,” Lauren wrote in the foreword to the RL Vintage e-book. Each season Lauren will choose items from his deep design archives and curate a themed collection. The current offering showcases western-inspired vintage pieces like patterned wool riding coats and fringed jackets. We’re hoping next season’s collection will include the tall brown leather lace-up Ralph Lauren boots that Molly Ringwald wore in classic ’80s movie, The Breakfast Club. (Is it too early to start campaigning?) Hurry over to RLvintage.com before everything sells out—the fashion is flying!

Plus, celebrities who love Ralph Lauren.

The Breakfast Club Turns 25: What’s Your Favorite Scene?

Sep 21, 2010 @ 3:27 pm

The ultimate high school movie has officially graduated! John Hughes’ Brat Pack classic The Breakfast Club is now (gasp!) 25 years old. Telling the story of “a brain, a beauty, a jock, a rebel and a recluse” stuck in Saturday detention, the flick, which stars Anthony Michael Hall, Molly Ringwald, Emilio Estevez, Judd Nelson and Ally Sheedy, delivers some pretty powerful messages along with its killer ’80s soundtrack. Between makeovers, making out and capering through the (almost) empty school, each character reveals him or herself in raw monologues touching on suicide, abuse and neglect. So, what’s your favorite scene? Is it Claire’s lipstick party trick? Is it bad boy Bender telling the principal to “Eat my shorts?” As for us, we’ll always want to join in the unabashed library dance party. Check it out after the jump and let us know which Breakfast Club moment you just can’t forget in the comments section below!
