Mandy Moore and Minka Kelly helped famed fashion photographer Helmut Newton celebrate the opening of his new exhibit Helmut Newton: White Women, Sleepless Night, Big Nudes at the Annenberg Space for Photography museum in Century City, California. ”Helmut Newton is one of the most powerful and influential photographers of the past century,” said Wallis Annenberg, Chairman of the Board, President and CEO of the Annenberg Foundation. “If Newton’s work was controversial, I believe it’s because he expressed the contradictions within all of us, and particularly within the women he photographed so beautifully: empowerment mixed with vulnerability.” The exhibition will run from June 29 through September 8, 2013 and is set to feature 100 of Newton’s most influential pieces, along with two short documentaries about his life. Exclusive Inside the Party: The Beverly Hilton Pool Relaunch With Lea Michele, Minka Kelly, and MoreMay 24, 2013 @ 11:30 am
Just in time for Memorial Day, the Beverly Hilton threw a pool party to celebrate the makeover and reopening of its famous Aqua Star Pool. The hotel enlisted the help of celeb stylist extraordinaire Estee Stanley to style the space with a retro Hollywood vibe, and she teamed up with DomaineHome.com and WhoWhatWear.com founders Hillary Kerr and Katherine Power to toast to the redesign by inviting all their star pals to come check it out. ”Things were freshened up,” Stanley said of upgrading the largest pool in Beverly Hills. “I wanted to keep it what it is, without making it too modern.” Lea Michele and Cat Deeley were among the A-listers present to take in the new setting, which includes avocado and lemon trees, plush white pool chairs, and a fire pit perfect for summer nights. And true to the nautical theme, Stanley even styled the entire pool staff in sailor-inspired navy and white Lacoste outfits. “It’s the best!” said attendee Sophia Bush, who posed with the newly-brunette Minka Kelly. “It’s like the chic-est afternoon pool party you’ve ever been to.” Click to get an inside look.

Talk about blonde ambition! Earlier this week, brunette bombshell Minka Kelly swapped her signature shade for a sunnier blonde hue. Her colorist Tracey Cunningham unveiled the star’s new look on her Instagram, and Cunningham predicts that many others will follow suit this spring. “Spring and summer is the prime time to shake up your blonde by adding soft golden shades that will really make your look pop,” she said in a Redken trend forecast. And Kelly agrees—she loved her new look so much, she left a comment on Cunningham’s Instagram singing her praises. “Thank you for the fun summer goldierocks,” she wrote. “I love it! You’re the best in the biz!” Do you like her new look?

The Heart Truth’s annual Red Collection Fashion Show helped kick off New York Fashion Week tonight! Seventeen stars—including the Jenner clan (who presented a united fashion front in Badgley Mischka), fitness expert Jillian Michaels (in Cushnie et Ochs), Jamie Chung (in David Meister), and more—channeled their inner models to strut down the runway in New York’s Hammerstein Ballroom wearing vibrant red dresses by a variety of designers, combining fashion and famous faces to help raise awareness for heart disease. “Losing my mom because she wasn’t healthy really inspired me to live a healthy life,” two-time Red Dress Fashion Show model Minka Kelly (in Oscar de la Renta) told InStyle.com of the event, which was sponsored by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, Diet Coke, and WebMD. “It made sense to get involved and to inspire other women to take care of their hearts. This was a very lucky opportunity for me.” And there’s another reason to get involved, which Today anchor Savannah Guthrie (in Carolina Hererra) put best: “Who doesn’t dream of getting glammed up from time to time and having this experience?” Indeed! “I’m so nervous!” Kelly Osbourne told InStyle.com backstage before she hit the runway for The Heart Truth’s Red Collection 11th Anniversary Fashion Show, sponsored by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, Diet Coke, and WebMD. The butterflies-in-the-stomach feeling was one that radiated through backstage at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York, where 17 stars prepared to walk the runway for a cause—raising awareness for women’s heart health—and InStyle.com had an all-access pass to see every mani, makeup, and hair strand get perfectly in place. “It’s so out of my comfort zone,” fitness guru Jillian Michaels said as she primped for the show. “But this is such a cool event, I’m so excited. Not only about awareness, it’s also just fun!” Click through the gallery to all of the candid behind-the-scenes moments.
Misha Nonoo is a designer to watch! Creations by the 25-year-old—who was born in Bahrain before being schooled in London, Paris, and New York—have been spotted on Minka Kelly, Gwyneth Paltrow, and most recently, InStyle cover girl Amanda Seyfried at a Les Miserables press luncheon this week. “[Seeing a celebrity in my clothes] is great because it’s a different take on how I would do it,” Nonoo told InStyle.com of her clothing at the FGI Night of Stars event earlier this year. “I design a look head to toe, and maybe they don’t wear it that way. It’s just refreshing to see how people put things together.” And you’re bound to see more stars in her designs: After launching her label in 2010, she quickly became known for creating sculpted shapes with precise fits, and in February of this year, she took home Fashion Group International’s Rising Star Award for Women’s Ready-to-Wear. And you can get a piece of the celebrity-loved label! Her designs range from $250 to $2,500, on nonoony.com, and be sure to heed her advice when doing so: “Look at the sizing guides! We have a very European fit. It’s very much for everyday, with a designer aesthetic.” Noted!
