Polka dots are spot-on this spring! Diane Kruger paired her dots with another major red carpet trend: color-blocking, Krysten Ritter picked an oversize version of the pattern in a flirty ’50s shape, Gwen Stefani sweetened up her tough girl leather jacket and jeans with dotted denim, and Heidi Klum lent some sexiness to the style with a gutsy hemline and spiked heels. Krysten Ritter wears her earrings for a cause! The actress teamed up with JewelMint, the jewelry collection designed by her L!fe Happens co-star Kate Bosworth and stylist Cher Coulter, to spotlight an accessory as part of the JewelMint Celebrity Guest Curator Series. Half of the proceeds from her pick—these geometric enamel and gold-plated Bermuda earrings—go to Ritter’s charity of choice, Autism Speaks. “They’re a staple with a little edge that can easily transition from day to night, which is perfect for me because I like to be stylish and edgy, but also low maintenance,” Ritter told InStyle.com of the danglers. Bosworth agrees: “The earrings are fun and funky, just like Krysten. They are perfect for her!” Get your own pair for $30 at jewelmint.com.

How did the girls of the new girly comedy L!fe Happens get their perfect pouts? Celebrity makeup artist Amy Nadine headed up the makeup department for the new flick—which Krysten Ritter co-wrote and stars in alongside Rachel Bilson and Kate Bosworth—and turned to Tarte LipSurgence lip tints, a stain that improves lips’ moisture ($24 at tartecosmetics.com). “It was really important to us that the girls were young and attainable and looked like they did their makeup themselves,” Ritter told InStyle.com exclusively, adding that this was the only product all three stars wore during the entire film. “We didn’t want them to look overdone and wanted each to have their own distinctive look.” Ritter’s character Kim switched off light mauve Enchanted, deep berry Moody, and blood red Lust; Bosworth’s straight-shooting relationship columnist Deena went for the cool-tone, matte-finish warm rose Hope; and Bilson’s virginal girl-next-door Laura went for light pink Lucky. Check them all out in L!fe Happens, which opens in limited release today and nationwide May 3rd.

We could not be more excited about a film starring three of our favorite actresses: Kate Bosworth, Krysten Ritter, and InStyle contributor Rachel Bilson. But then they had to go and add in tremendous fashion too! It’s almost too much. Almost. We spoke to the movie’s stylist, Ilaria Urbinati, and this is what she had to say: “I wanted the wardrobe to be stylish but in a subtle way, and not take away from the story of these girls. Kate’s character has a really ’90s minimalist look, which is nice because that’s so big right now, and it really suited her—lots of white and pale green and beige. Calvin Klein Collection is basically dressing her for the whole movie and they do that aesthetic so beautifully. With Krysten’s character we went in the other direction: lots of florals and girlie colors. She’s almost a little more grunge. And Rachel’s character is a little more farm girl so she wears lots of gingham…a little Brigitte Bardot meets Daisy Duke.” Click through the gallery to see some images from the set and find out exactly what the chic trio is wearing!
