Tonight is the 2013 Met Gala—officially known as the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Gala and unofficially known as The Oscars Red Carpet of Fashion. With this year’s theme being Punk: Chaos to Couture, we’re guaranteed to see some over-the-top style choices… and they’re rolling down the red carpet right now. Nicole Richie (in Topshop Unique) debuted punk rock-inspired dyed hair, Taylor Swift (in J. Mendel) showed off her edgier side, and Kim Kardashian and Kanye West (both in Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci) had a shining moment on the carpet. And that’s not all. What you see above is just the start of tonight’s festivities—come back to InStyle.com first thing tomorrow morning to get your punk on and see the full red carpet rundown.
Kim Kardashian isn’t afraid to try new beauty treatments—vampire facial, anyone?—and now the reality star tried another at a spa in Santorini, Greece: The fish pedicure. The treatment involves you dipping your feet into warm water and allowing small Doctor Fish to remove and clean dead skin from your soles. The procedure has been controversial for years and certainly isn’t for the squeamish. But, guess who’s squeamish?! Check out Kim’s hilarious reaction to the pescetarian pedi in the clip above, plus a much calmer reaction from sister Kourtney. Then, tell us in the comments: Would you ever try a fish pedicure?

It’s off to the races for the Kentucky Derby this weekend, and we’re just as excited for the parade of festive hats as we are for the actual race. If past is precedent, the stars are aligned to show up in creative takes on the southern belle headpiece, a tradition that’s believed to bring good luck. Check out a few of our favorites from years past in the gallery.

We hadn’t seen much of Kim Kardashian lately, which had us wondering about the paparazzi-plagued starlet. But like a true Kardashian, the reality star wasn’t far from the cameras, as she stepped out in Paris this week in a tight maxi dress (pictured, far right), which stopped traffic for its curve-hugging style as much as its bright red color. The look is just the latest example of how Kardashian is staying true to her signature style while pregnant (stilettos, anyone?) and there’s lessons we can all learn from her many maternity looks. Click the photo to see her best ensembles since debuting her pregnancy this past December, and the tips and tricks to take away—whether you’re pregnant or not.
Kim Kardashian’s maternity style has turned heads and started conversations, as the reality star has not shied away from curve-hugging silhouettes and sky-high stilettos throughout her pregnancy. And her shopping jaunt in New York’s Tribeca neighborhood yesterday was no different: She strode across the downtown sidewalk in a black Stella McCartney dress and matching Valentino cardigan. However, it’s the footwear that’s our favorite part of this outfit because the sandals are a little ode to her boyfriend and father of her unborn baby Kanye West. The wing-covered heels are part of the collection Giuseppe Zanotti designed in honor of West’s Cruel Summer album last year—the white pair she’s wearing are from last season, but this spring they’re available in a black and gold version, shown here. Find them for $1,500 on colette.fr.

Kim Kardashian won raves in our office for her look at Sunday night’s MTV Movie Awards (above far right). From her tousled layers to her eye-catching statement necklace, the reality star hit all the marks. But anyone who looks at the Internet knows this isn’t always the case for the mom-to-be—especially since she clearly hasn’t let her first pregnancy derail her fondness for tight clothes and stilettos. Still, not every one of her maternity looks has been a miss! We rounded up her best bump-baring ensembles and the style lessons any expectant mom can learn from them. Take a look.
To complement her curve-hugging ensemble and statement necklace, mom-to-be Kim Kardashian went for loose, touchable layers at this year’s MTV Movie Awards, a style inspired by her growing fringe. “Kim has been trying to grow her bangs out, so I created a deep part to pull them to the side,” said her hairstylist Chris McMillan (yes, the magic man behind Jennifer Aniston‘s tresses). ”We kept the blowout sleek with a little bit of texture.” To ensure her look stayed intact throughout the show, McMillan used Living Proof’s Prime Style Extender ($20; sephora.com) on damp hair, then blow-dried the product in with a round brush. He sectioned the star’s hair into a deep side part, then misted the Hold Flexible Hairspray ($24; sephora.com) over the style to add extra definition. “It added texture and created a piecey look,” he said. “I also used it to keep the bangs tucked away.” The extreme side part is a great option if you’re growing your fringe (like Michelle Obama), and the wispy ends give the style more dimension.

Kim Kardashian’s Necklace at the 2013 MTV Movie Awards: All the Details (Because It Was Hard Not to Look At!)Apr 15, 2013 @ 11:40 am
Kim Kardashian‘s maternity style tour has been quite a topic of discussion (for reasons you already know), but we have to admit, she nailed her look for last night’s MTV Movie Awards. We love how she accessorized her form-fitting Saint Laurent LBD with a single statement necklace that rested upon her growing belly—it drew attention to her baby bump without overdoing it. The piece is also by Saint Laurent, and it’s called “The Opium Necklace,” a gold-plated over brass style with a thick snake chain and chain tassels. For those who want to emulate Kim’s maternity style, try a single big necklace with a pendant that hits your bump; Kim’s is available for $1,250 at ysl.com.
