The Kate Middleton Effect struck again when the polka dot Topshop dress she wore to visit the Warner Brothers Studio in London sold out faster than you could say “RepliKate.” If you weren’t one of the lucky ones to snag the adorable fit and flare dress, don’t worry—we picked out three similar styles that will have you feeling and looking like our favorite royal. From left: Score a similar Topshop style with slightly different dots ($76 at nordstrom.com); mix textures with print with ModCloth’s polka dot and lace ($60 at modcloth.com); and reverse the hues in this white-on-black version by Dorothy Perkins ($29 at dorothyperkins.com). Awww! Will and Kate’s Baby Inspire New Nail Polish Color

Apr 29, 2013 @ 3:10 pm

Oh, baby! Duchess Catherine and Prince William still have a few more months before their little one arrives, but Butter London has already created a nail polish to commemorate the mini-monarch. Named “Pitter Patter” to mirror the sound of tiny footsteps soon to be heard all over Buckingham Palace, the shade is an ultra-deep eggplant with dynamic plum shimmer. Ever since Roman Emperors donned the bold hue, purple has been commonly considered a sign of nobility, and we can’t think of a more stylish way to celebrate the arrival of the royal baby. This marks the third regal lacquer created by Butter London, with the shimmery violet “No More Waity, Katie,” celebrating Will and Kate’s engagement, and the lavender steel “Lillibet’s Jubilee” to honor Queen Elizabeth’s 60 years on the throne. Shop Pitter Patter now for $15 at butterlondon.com.

Time has flown by! We can’t believe it’s already been two years since we saw Prince William and Catherine Middleton walk down the aisle at Westminster Abbey and say their “I Dos.” And their lives (and ours!) haven’t been the same since: The gown Kate wore by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen became a museum piece, her maid of honor Pippa Middleton shot into the spotlight thanks to her backside that very day, the Duchess became a style icon with her her every move tracked (and eventually selling out), and finally, the love keeps going now that the blissful couple now have a baby on the way. But it all started April 29, 2011. Click through the gallery to remember the glorious day.

Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge has been busy lately—a baby on the way isn’t stopping her!—so, we’re doing some style prep for Princess’s growing bump by picking out a look we’d like to see her wear for her next outing. With Kate experimenting with prints this week in an Erdem design, we’ve tasked ourselves with finding pieces with fun patterns to complement her changing figure. Scroll down to see our three picks.

INSPIRATION
The Erdem floral shift dress she wore to help launch a new school counseling program at the Willows Primary School in Manchester, England.

PICKS
A TWO-TONE PRINTED WRAP DRESS
Diane von Furstenberg‘s abstract printed dress ($365 at dvf.com) in her classic wrap style is sure to flatter her figure. Plus, the Duchess has a proven herself fan of DVF by wearing her dresses and clutches for past occasions.

A FRESH FLORAL SHIFT
The floral pattern of Erdem‘s funky shift ($675 at matchesfashion.com) makes for a stylish option in one of her favorite color palettes.

A GRAPHIC FROCK
The rouched detailing of L.K. Bennett‘s design ($395 at lkbennett.com) gives her expanding bump room to grow, and the graphic print adds a fun touch to a traditional style.

Is Kate Middleton’s Pastel Blue Dress an Indication She’s Having a Boy?

Apr 25, 2013 @ 1:40 pm

Could Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge be sending the world a message with her wardrobe? If you flip back through the catalog of her maternity style choices so far, you might note that she has steered away from the pale pink Wickstead frock she wore nearly a year ago, focusing on more masculine hues like blue, green, and gray. Yesterday was the biggest clue, when she stopped by a reception at the London Portrait Gallery to celebrate The Art Room charity in a pastel blue Emilia Wickstead dress. Could the color of her frock be a subliminal message on the gender of her forthcoming child? You never know! Click the photo to see more of her maternity looks.
