Bye-bye, blonde hair! Yesterday in New York City, Kate Bosworth was spotted on the set of Still Alice, rocking new red strands. Bosworth made the dramatic change to get into character for the upcoming film, and the last time we’ve seen this side of the star was back in 2010, when she donned a bolder shade of red for The Warrior’s Way. While she’s dabbled in even darker colors before, the actress prefers herself in paler shades of the spectrum. “I felt more solemn as a brunette. It doesn’t make sense, but I don’t take things as seriously when I’m a blonde,” she told InStyle previously. Because her current auburn has more of a strawberry blonde effect, we think it’s perfect middle-ground between the two hues, not to mention a gorgeous complement to her skin tone. It was date night for Kate Bosworth (in Christopher Kane) and husband Michael Polish, who gathered with the rest of the Big Sur cast on the rooftop of Hotel Chantelle to celebrate the film’s New York City premiere. Big Sur follows the story of beat poet Jack Kerouac, who takes refuge in California’s rugged region of the same name following his rise to fame after publishing On the Road. Aside from their shared wanderlust and expertise at traversing the Bay Area’s surroundings, Bosworth confessed to spotting a few more similarities between Polish and Kerouac. “They’re both brilliant American artists, and Michael is a great writer,” she told InStyle.com. “I think Jack would be very proud of this film. I can say that with confidence because I think there’s something that he and Michael both know of each other — capturing that lonesome kind of feeling.” Polish humbly accepted her loving praises. “I try to do what he did!” he said. “I can only take a movie I had some sort of relation to, and he was a guy on an artist’s journey. I tried to stay as true as I could to the words.” This also marks the first time Bosworth has starred in one of her husband’s films; she is set to appear in Polish’s upcoming project Unconscious, which is currently in post-production.

Earlier this year, actress (and avid music festival-goer) Kate Bosworth served as a consultant to Topshop‘s Festival collection. But for her second collaboration with the British retailer, worn-in plaid, boho-chic lace dresses and floral crowns were nowhere to be seen. America’s sweetheart debuted an edgier, minimalist aesthetic that revolves around masculine-feminine silhouettes, from white leather tailored tops and sweatshirts to foil wrapped skirts. While vastly different from her first capsule, this one is surprisingly not at all discordant with her personal style, delivering a strong line-up of quality, wearable pieces. See our top five favorites from the 46-piece winter collection, available starting today at Topshop stores and topshop.com.
What happens when you can’t decide on a wedding band style? Sometimes you just go for two! That’s exactly what Kate Bosworth did for her nuptials to director Michael Polish, enlisting the team at Ocappi. Haki Abehsera, creative director of the fine jewelry retailer, tells us that while the first band boasts 18 brilliant baguette diamonds, it was designed with a slim profile to complement her 1920s engagement ring. “She expressed how much she loved her engagement ring and how she wanted something to accompany it without taking too much attention away from it,” he explains. The second, however, features 12 larger baguette diamonds and has…a little more oomph. “Michael mentioned that maybe we should do something with 12 stones representing each month of the year. That’s where we decided not to be subtle and how ring number two was created,” Abehsera adds. We love that the groom helped in the design process—we predict these will be pinned by many an upcoming bride.

Congrats to the happy couple! Kate Bosworth and director husband Michael Polish tied the knot this weekend in Phillipsburg, Montana. The pair, who frequented summer music festivals and New York Fashion Week front-row and hand-in-hand this past year, had the Martha Stewart Weddings team on-hand to plan, execute, and document all the details. According to the staff, the actress wore two custom Oscar de la Renta gowns, and the groom chose Brooks Brothers. Bosworth completed her look with gorgeous Jimmy Choo ”Lotus” heels. Bosworth made a popular choice for bridal footwear–her jeweled sandals appear to be sold out everywhere! The big question: Where will the two honeymoon?
