Saturday’s Environmental Media Awards in Burbank, California may have unwittingly contributed to global warming thanks to Hollywood’s hottest (and greenest!) stars, who came out in droves for the event. Jessica Alba (in Narciso Rodriguez) suited up for the event with Amy Smart, while mom-to-be Malin Akerman posed cheek-to-cheek with Revenge star Emily VanCamp (in Andrew Gn). Also at the fashionable affair: Emmy-winner Julie Bowen, who caught up with Carla Gugino. Click through to see Scarlett Johansson, Eva Longoria and more stars at this week’s hottest events.
Modern Family’s leading ladies Sofia Vergara and Julie Bowen kept it close at a reception hosted by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences in Universal City, California, where they were joined by co-stars Ty Burrell, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, and Eric Stonestreet. Julie Bowen has a fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants philosophy to style, but there is one thing that is non-negotiable: Prada. “If it says Prada, I don’t throw it out,” the Modern Family actress told InStyle.com at the Huggies Hawaiian and Baby2Baby Luau Event recently, where she wore a vintage green summer dress by the Italian label. “This is vintage Prada, top-to-bottom, and these are my vintage Prada shoes,” she explained. “I’ve held on to all of this since the ‘90s in the hopes that it would come back.” Not only did the pieces come back—she saved them! “I got the shoes on eBay, and I had to sew up the straps of the dress this morning,” she said. “I’m very handy with a needle.” We’d say so! Tell us: Is there anything you just can’t throw away in your closet?

Busy Philipps and Julie Bowen (in Prada) got in the tropical spirit to co-host a Huggies Hawaiian and Baby2Baby luau in Beverly Hills, which supported the organization’s mission to provide Los Angeles families in need with essential baby gear. “I’ve been involved with Baby2Baby since I became a new mom myself,” Philipps told InStyle.com. “You realize it takes a village and that’s why getting involved in a charity like this is so important.” Huggies pledged to donate 22 million diapers this year. New York-based designer Naeem Khan enjoyed some one-on-one time with his star fans at a private dinner he hosted at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles. The designer, shown with Angie Harmon, dressed each of the attendees in one of his creations: Jordana Brewster in a taupe and turquoise printed pleated number, Ellie Kemper in an olive and sand dropped-waist crystal beaded dress, Harmon in a turquoise chiffon and lace embroidered caftan, The Help star Ahna O’Reilly in a white faille dress with gold circle lace-applique, and Julie Bowen in a sleeveless ostrich feather mini. It was an especially special evening for The Office and Bridesmaids star Kemper, who celebrated her 32nd birthday yesterday. See more stars at last night’s hottest events in the gallery.

Oscars weekend brought out the color of the year! The color authority Pantone named tangerine as 2012′s most wanted hue, and celebrities brightened up their red-carpet wardrobes with a splash of the citrus shade. Cameron Diaz chose figure-hugging Victoria Beckham, Vanessa Hudgens stood out in a vibrant Tibi design, and Julie Bowen partied in a draped Halston look. See all the stars who wore tangerine this year—so far—in the gallery.

While Julie Bowen (in Temperley) and Sofia Vergara (in Marchesa) both wore similar shades of fuchsia to the SAG Awards, the Modern Family co-stars didn’t coordinate together. “I clearly didn’t plan my colors with Sofia,” Bowen told InStyle.com at the after-party. “I usually email her shortly before an awards thing and I go, ‘What are you wearing?’” And she wishes she remembered to do that this time: “I don’t want to wear the same color as her because you look like you’re wearing the junior men’s version of whatever she’s wearing,” Bowen said. “I feel like the teen boys’ department version of Sofia!” We think both ladies looked gorgeous!
