Inside the Party: Gwyneth Paltrow, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kate Hudson, and More Toast to Tiffany & Co. Inside a 31-Foot Tall Tiffany Blue Box

“It’s one of my more privileged nights,” Sarah Jessica Parker told InStyle.com as she entered the Tiffany & Co. Blue Book Ball, which took place inside a 31-foot-high Tiffany Blue Box covering The Rink at Rockefeller Center to celebrate the jewelry company’s new custom collection inspired by the Jazz Age. And she wasn’t the only one feeling privileged—while she had $497,500 worth of Tiffany jewels accessorizing her vintage Vicky Tiel design, other guests also dressed in Tiffany’s finest, including Kate Hudson (in Reem Acra), Michelle Williams, Jessica Biel, Carey Mulligan (in Victoria Beckham), and Gwyneth Paltrow (in Ralph Lauren). The gorgeous gals were just a few of the 400 guests who, once inside the blue box, were treated to a ’20s-style supper club—which brought the newly-unveiled Great Gatsby-inspired windows to life—complete with big-band jazz performances and a serenade by Smash star Megan Hilty, who fittingly performed the night’s anthem, “Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend.” And anywhere you turned—Tiffany blue could be found. “I love the color, it’s one of my favorites,” Paltrow said of the celebrated hue of the evening. “It’s so optimistic and it’s perfect. I think it’s so beautiful.” Click the photo for more.

Gwyneth Paltrow’s New Cookbook, It’s All Good: A Defense

Apr 4, 2013 @ 3:15 pm

Whenever InStyle cover girl Gwyneth Paltrow does something, there’s a good portion of the population in disagreement (see: here and here). And with the launch of her new cookbook, It’s All Good: Delicious, Easy Recipes That Will Make You Look and Feel Great, the headlines are no different. So why all the negativity? Because in this 304-page cookbook, released this week, Paltrow advocates an elimination diet, in which one avoids coffee, alcohol, dairy, eggs, sugar, shellfish, deepwater fish, potatoes, tomatoes, bell peppers, eggplant, corn, wheat, meat, and soy—not just for a period of time, but for the rest of one’s life. Paltrow admits that the diet, recommended by Dr. Alejandro Junger (of Clean diet fame), was overwhelming at first, and a blow for the self-professed foodie. Still, she says, the end result was life-changing, and spawned the idea for this cookbook, which she co-wrote with Julia Turshen, a food writer and private chef. Paltrow readily admits that the lifestyle she advocates in this book isn’t easy. “The rest of my life? Without Parmesan cheese and fried zucchini and pasta and baguettes and Pinor Noir?” she writes. “That was not going to happen, let’s face it. However, could it become my baseline?. Could I lean toward it more? I decided I could.” Without saying so, it sounds like Paltrow is following the old 80/20 rule when it comes to food: eating healthy 80% of the time so you can indulge the other 20%. That certainly sounds like a balanced and realistic approach to eating to us! And let’s face it: if any diet can help us all look as good as Paltrow does at age 40, it’s worth a shot. Click here to snag a copy of the book for yourself, and share your thoughts in the comments!

Plus, see just how great Gwyneth looks!

The Next Step in Tracy Anderson Fitness: Opening a Blow-Dry Bar in Her Brentwood Studio With Celeb Stylist David Babaii

Mar 25, 2013 @ 4:45 pm

Celebrity trainer Tracy Anderson’s workout tricks are all about feeling beautiful from the inside-out, and now she’s adding a way for you to feel beautiful from the outside-in. The trainer to the stars—Gwyneth Paltrow among them—teamed up with celebrity stylist David Babaii to open a blow-dry bar exclusively at the Tracy Anderson Method location in Brentwood, California. “I am so excited and honored to join Tracy’s team as we both share the same devotion to women’s fitness, health, and beauty,” said Babaii, who lost over 100 pounds with the fitness guru’s help. The blow-dry bar will open April 4th for members only, and in addition to forming perfect post-exercise styles, the salon’s styling pros will offer long-lasting workout updos, red carpet coiffs, and everything in between. Blow-dry bars specialize purely in the art of a blowout, with DryBarBlowPro, and Rachel Zoe’s DreamDry among the many options. We’re hoping Babaii extends his venture to Anderson’s East Coast outposts next!
