Nicole Kidman takes on the Princess of Monaco as she portrays the late Grace Kelly in the upcoming film Grace of Monaco, and the first official photo (shown) was released today. In the film, due out 2014, Kidman portrays the legendary Hollywood beauty while she’s in her early 30s during a time of political tension between France and Monaco over tax laws. Nicole Kidman  made her first on-set appearance as Grace Kelly for Olivier Dahan’s film, Grace of Monaco recently while shooting in the South of France. The film, slated for a 2014 release, is set in the 1960s, several years after Kelly left her career as Hollywood royalty to marry Prince Rainier III and become Her Serene Highness The Princess of Monaco. Kidman was spotted wearing a pale yellow cape-trench with a large, distinguished collar, offset by a double strand of pearls, and her hair was set in short waves. We think she looks remarkably similar to the original princess. What do you think?

Nicole Kidman is bringing Grace Kelly back to the big screen! The Australian actress will star as the late actress-turned-princess in Olivier Dahan’s Grace of Monaco, a film that will chronicle Kelly’s reign as the princess consort due out in 2014. Plus, longtime stage actor Tim Roth will star opposite Kidman as Kelly’s husband, Prince Rainier, Variety reports. Look how much the actors resemble the royal pair!
