Found It! Erin Wasson’s Cap-Toe Oxfords

Oct 7, 2012 @ 12:00 pm

We love how Rockport spokesmodel Erin Wasson amped up the brand’s cap-toe oxfords with her own boot harness chain. ”I am very much inspired by men’s fashion,” she told us at an event celebrating the brand’s fall collection. ”I always joke that [my style is] a combination of Johnny Cash and Rod Stewart.” With this look, she nailed it! Get her Rockport lace-ups for $110 at macys.com.

Plus, shop more star style.

InStyle invited some of our closest friends—Nikki Reed, Emilie de Ravin, Sophia Bush, Malin Akerman, and Erin Wasson included—to toast to the season at our annual Summer Soiree last night, held the London Hotel Rooftop in Los Angeles. “It is lovely,” Bush said of the atmosphere, which included a Gordon Ramsey-designed menu, Starbucks-infused drinks, and a Ben & Jerry’s ice cream bar. ”I mean, what can I get my hands on first? I try it all!” But there was something she had to do first: “I have a couple girlfriends [here] that I am going to hug. That is always the priority, hug the people I like.” Like Bush, the evening acted as a catch-up session, with the stars reminiscing about the days and nights that made summer 2012 unforgettable. Click through the gallery to see who else attended, and read about some of their favorite moments of this scorching season.

Rachel Zoe’s New Client: Erin Wasson

May 30, 2012 @ 3:20 pm

Model Erin Wasson had never used a stylist before, so when she finally decided to use one for her trip to the 2012 Cannes Film Festival, she went with one of the best in the industry—Rachel Zoe! “Rachel is someone I have a huge amount of respect for, so I emailed her about working together,” Wasson told InStyle.com during the festival. “Rachel is probably the most humble person out there. She’s funny, she’s smart, she’s savvy, she just gets it.” The pair played dress-up before the event, picking out options together before Wasson hopped a plane to France. “After all of these years of not working with a stylist, Cannes seemed like the right time to up the ante.” Judging by the model’s glam Cannes looks, from Antonio Berardi to Oscar de la Renta, the collaboration was a success!

Are Models The New Designers?

Apr 7, 2010 @ 5:19 pm

A handful of major models have stepped beyond the runway to flex their design chops recently. Erin Wasson lent her chic bohemian style to surf and skate brand RVCA for a womenswear collection and started an edgy silver-heavy costume jewelry line Low Luv, while Coco Rocha debuted a design from her new line, Rococo, at this year’s Grammys. And Kate Moss, who paved the way with her successful collections for Topshop, is expanding to a handbag line with luxury accessories brand Longchamp. Elle Macpherson, Liya Kebede, Lily Cole and Natalia Vodianova are just a few more of the beauties on board with the trend. After building a career modeling clothes and working closely with the industry’s top couturiers, design is a logical step for these models, who strive to earn as much credibility as the major fashion houses they represent on the runway. “I want people to take me seriously,” Rocha told WWD. “I want to be able to turn around and say, ‘I made that.’” Tell us what you think of the supermodel-turned-designer trend in the comments section below!
