Neil Lane on Why Christina Applegate’s Engagement Ring Fits Just Right

Feb 27, 2013 @ 7:00 pm

Christina Applegate married her longtime sweetheart, musician Martyn LeNoble, over the weekend during a private ceremony at their home in Los Angeles. The bride wore a gown by Maria Lucia Hohan, and a particularly sparkly accessory on her left ring finger thanks to jewelry designer Neil Lane, the multi-diamond ring shown at right, which matched the groom’s hand-made platinum wedding band, also shown. “We took her engagement ring and fit it in a sleeve of little diamonds to become one with the wedding band,” Lane told InStyle.com. “It’s platinum and diamond inset with tiny little diamonds everywhere. The diamond ring has a border of diamonds around it like a sleeve.” Lane also extended his congratulations to the happy couple: “It was just the right time for them. They’re a very happy couple. There is a great deal of love between them.”

Christina Applegate Designs Jewelry for Charity

Sep 28, 2010 @ 12:57 pm

After beating breast cancer in 2008, Christina Applegate is now making jewelry to raise money for her Right Action for Women foundation, an organization that helps women at high risk for breast cancer receive screenings.  The actress explained that the “Tree of Life” pendant she created with NYC designer Alex Woo was inspired from a very personal memory. “This piece reminds me so much of the roses I made out of ribbons for my friends and family while in the hospital,” she told People.  The necklace comes in silver ($198) or gold ($998).

Poll: Who Should Star in the Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead Remake?

Aug 18, 2010 @ 2:57 pm

Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead, one of our favorite ’90s flicks ever, is reportedly going to be remade. (Current status: the script is out to writers.) Already a cult classic, the 1991 film followed Christina Applegate (as oldest sis Sue Ellen) as she worked to support her brothers and sisters at a cushy fashion gig after the summer babysitter, you know, dropped dead. Now that the stylish movie is set to enter the 21st century, our minds are swirling with leading lady possibilities. Who do you think should play Sue Ellen this time around?

The Look of VH1′s Do Something Awards: Stylishly Sweet

Jul 20, 2010 @ 11:06 am

Last night, VH1 premiered its first annual Do Something Awards, a ceremony which honors celebrities, athletes and common folk who have effected positive changes in the world. The big winner was 23-year-old Jessica Posner, who collected the $100,000 prize for her efforts in helping combat gender inequalities in Kiberia.  We were truly taken by all of the charitable efforts highlighted at last night’s event (there were definitely a few tears), which was hosted by Glee star Jane Lynch. And even though Tyra Banks and Christina Applegate each took home statuettes (for Do Something With Style and Do Something Kick Ass for Survival Awards, respectively), it was Megan Fox who won our award for most stylish star: She rocked an Azzedine Alaia frock in a muted palette of peaches, nudes and caramels.
