Girls Season 2, Episode 4: What They Wore (and Why!)

Feb 4, 2013 @ 3:06 pm

For those Girls fans who were tuned into Beyonce Bowl last night, fret not! HBO already posted the fourth episode, “It’s a Shame About Ray,” online (watch it here) so you don’t have to wait to see your favorite Brooklyn-based ladies doing their worst. This week, there was a lot of relationship drama for Allison Williams’ Marnie and Jemima Kirke’s Jessa, and we spoke to costume designer Jenn Rogien to learn all about what they were wearing when it went down. “We didn’t want the wardrobe to be the focus this week, we just wanted to underscore what was happening,” Rogien explained. “There was a lot happening emotionally and story-wise, so we wanted to take a step back and support that.” Indeed! Click through the gallery to see our favorite looks from this week. And check back after next week’s episode for more from Jenn!

The stars were certainly out for Golden Globes night, party-hopping through bashes hosted by HBO, NBC Universal, The Weinstein Company, and FOX. Zosia Mamet, Lena Dunham, and Allison Williams celebrated their Girls Best Comedy Series win at the HBO party, although they didn’t anticipate an all-night rager. “Here’s probably what’s going to happen,” Williams told InStyle.com. “We’re going to stay up until about midnight, which is 3 a.m. our time, and then we’ll probably eat at some point and that will be glorious.” Making the rounds alongside the trio were Jessica Chastain, InStyle cover girls Halle Berry and Amanda Seyfried, Anne Hathaway, and more. See all the stars in the gallery!

Found It! Girls Star Allison Williams’s Gold Eye Makeup

Jan 11, 2013 @ 11:44 am

The theme for Allison Williams’s ensemble at the Girls season two premiere? Solid gold! The star continued the 24-karat feel from her Altuzarra dress to her shimmery makeup, and we loved her metallic shadow so much, we had to find out which products her makeup artist Julie Harris used! To bring out Williams’s blue eyes, Harris used CARGO’s Baja quad ($30), starting with the pale gold shade all over her lids. The deeper gold was blended into the star’s crease and along her lower lash line. After a thick sweep of the brand’s TexasLiner in black ($20; available in March), she applied the High Pigment Pencil ($16) to Williams’s water line to give the look a smoky effect. Harris finished with three coats of CARGO’s TexasLash Mascara ($21). Find the user-friendly liquid liner in stores starting in March, and shop the rest of the products on cargocosmetics.com now!
