Adele will sing live at the Oscars! Following some speculation leading up to her presence at the Golden Globes last week, the Academy has confirmed that she will indeed grace the stage for a live performance at the 85th Annual Academy Awards. “It’s an honor to be nominated and terrifyingly wonderful to be singing in front of people who have captured my imagination over and over again,” Adele said in a statement. “It’s something I’ve never experienced and probably only ever will once!“ The British singer will belt out the song she penned as the title track for Skyfall, which is also nominated in the Best Original Song category. We can’t wait to hear her sing again—this will be her first live performance since giving birth to her son in October. Tune in to ABC February 24 at 7/6c to see it!

In addition to the couture gowns gracing the red carpet at last night’s Golden Globe Awards, celebrities also got creative with their nails! Jessica Alba offset her otherwise peach-inspired look with a pastel pink manicure, Zooey Deschanel followed up last year’s tuxedo nail art with a movie reel pattern, and Adele went for a full-on metallic effect. Her manicurist Kimmie Kyees, who is also responsible for Katy Perry’s many fun nail designs, layered Sally Hansen’s Complete Salon Manicure in Copper Penny over a base coat of So Much Fawn ($8 each; target.com). Take a closer look at their nails, and see even more Globes manicures in our gallery!
InStyle went backstage with all of the big winners at the Golden Globes! Best Supporting Actor winner Christoph Waltz took home the trophy for his stirring turn in Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained, and told InStyle.com he can’t wait to stash his award next to his other Golden Globe, which he received three years ago for Inglorious Basterds . “It sounds so ridiculous, but I put it with the other one,” Waltz said of his awards. “It’s in a cupboard, in a wardrobe, you know, behind closed doors. You can’t look at your awards all the time. Once in a while, maybe twice a month, I need to get into that wardrobe and then I see them.” And what went through Best Actress winner Jennifer Lawrence’s mind when her name was called? Pure joy! “I got to go on the stage!” she told InStyle.com. See more stars backstage and what they had to say about their new statues in the gallery!

It’s been almost two years since Adele released her chart-topping album, 21, and it’s still breaking records! Her second record—which also earned her six Grammy awards—became the highest-selling record for the second year in a row (both 2011 and 2012), making it the first album to ever do so. Adele’s album sold 4.4 million copies in 2012, and 5.8 million sold in 2011, Neilson SoundScan reported. And with her latest tune for the James Bond Movie, Skyfall, nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Original Song in a Motion Picture, there may be some more accolades in the near future for the soulful crooner. Congrats!

After announcing her pregnancy in June, Adele has welcomed a son into the world! A source close to the 24-year-old singer and her boyfriend, 38-year-old Simon Konecki, told People: “We are all over the moon.” No details just yet on the baby’s name or actual date of birth, but it was sometime this weekend in the U.K. Stay tuned for more about the little munchkin, and in the meantime, we’ll be listening to Adele’s theme song for Skyfall on repeat. Congratulations to the new parents, who are surely rolling in no sleep.

Adele let us know yesterday via Twitter (twice!) that she recorded the new theme song for the next Bond film, Skyfall (out in theaters Nov. 9), and that the track would be available this Friday here. But someone beat her to the draw: 30 seconds of the track has leaked online, and you can listen to it on the BBC. Each film’s theme song is a pivotal element of the iconic opening credit sequences, and through the years, giant contemporary musical artists have been tapped to write and/or perform it: Madonna, Carly Simon, Tina Turner, and Nancy Sinatra have all recorded their own versions. Adele’s powerful but melancholy voice will provide the backdrop for what the usual female-driven montage (perhaps featuring new Bond girl and InStyle favorite Bérénice Marlohe?). Listen to the leaked track here and tell us: do you like Adele as the newest musical Bond girl?
