Catherine Zeta-Jones Meets Prince Charles in Michael Kors

Catherine Zeta-Jones is now a Commander of the British Empire! The Welsh actress received the honorable award today, given to her by the Prince of Wales, Prince Charles at Buckingham Palace in London for her services to the film industry and to charity. She dressed in a taupe double face jacket and shift dress by Michael Kors for the occasion, one of her favorite designers (she attended Kors’ 30th anniversary fashion show in New York last week). Husband Michael Douglas was by her side for the honor, as were their two children, Dylan and Carys. “I am absolutely thrilled with this honor,” she told the Telegraph after the Queen announced her award last summer. “As a British subject, I feel incredibly proud, at the same time it is overwhelming and humbling.”

Catherine Zeta-Jones’ Monique Lhuillier Dress: The Exclusive Sketch!

Catherine Zeta-Jones walked the carpet at the Golden Globes last night in a strapless emerald textured organza gown by Monique Lhuillier, which featured a side drape and hand-tufted skirt. “I’m just happy to be able to put on a pretty dress,” she told us on the red carpet. “It’s been a while since I’ve had the chance to do that.” Lhuillier first premiered this dress during her pre-fall 2011 presentation last month, and the designer shared an exclusive sketch of the look with InStyle (left)! Shades of green paraded down the Golden Globes red carpet, making it one of the top trends of the evening. “I feel green looks great on many different people, it truly illuminates who you are,” stylist Estee Stanley—who dressed Mad Men‘s Elisabeth Moss in a hunter green gown by Donna Karan—told InStyle exclusively. “Last year, there were few jewel tones. So this year they came back with a vengeance.” Indeed they did: Catherine Zeta-Jones wore a strapless forest green Monique Lhuillier dress; Mila Kunis chose an emerald one-shoulder Vera Wang look; and Angelina Jolie shined a long-sleeved glittering green Versace gown encrusted with Swarovski crystals. Natalie Portman‘s maternity style is evolving on the red carpet. Last night, the Black Swan star (and February cover girl!) wore a halter-style Vena Cava sheath to the premiere of her latest film, No Strings Attached, and she recently wore a Vionnet dress with studded collar and cuffs to the Palm Springs International Film Festival Gala and a Jason Wu silk chiffon tiered dress at the People’s Choice Awards. Hollywood Scores On Broadway

While they’re known for their performances on the silver screen, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Scarlett Johansson have both earned Tony nominations for their work on the Great White Way. “In my dreams, I couldn’t imagine a better way to make my Broadway debut,” Zeta-Jones, up for Lead Actress in a Musical for A Little Night Music, told BroadwayWorld.com. Ditto Johansson, who admitted that receiving a nomination for Featured Actress in a Play for her first Broadway role in A View from the Bridge is, “a dream come true.” Jude Law, Laura Linney and Liev Schreiber are among the other Hollywood actors up for the coveted Tony medallion this year. If you hear the bright lights of Broadway calling, upload a video of yourself belting out a show tune on the Macy’s Sing Your Way to the Tony Awards contest Web site for the chance to walk the red carpet at the ceremony in New York City. Those of us who restrict our singing to the shower can watch the action unfold when the Tony Awards air live on CBS on Sunday, June 13.
