The 66th Annual Cannes Film Festival is off to a fashionable start thanks to Calvin Klein and the Independent Filmmaker Project! Together, they teamed up with euphoria Calvin Klein to host a party honoring women who have made an impact on film. Carey Mulligan, Rooney Mara, and Nicole Kidman—all dressed in Calvin Klein designs for the occasion—were among the guests who made their way to the L’Ecrin in France to support the positive cause. And Mara had even more to celebrate: The actress was just named the face of CK’s newest fragrance Downtown, a modern scent which mixes notes of woods with soft florals. Like the Calvin Klein aesthetic, even the brand’s cocktail parties are streamlined and elegant—the brand along with the Human Rights Campaign, co-hosted a chic soiree to celebrate the advocacy group’s two-year-old Americans for Marriage Equality program at its Madison Avenue flagship store last night, and many loyal celebrity CK fans stopped by to show their support. “Tonight they lured me upon the issue of marriage equality,” said Uma Thurman, who showed up with daughter Maya Thurman-Hawke. “To me, it’s an absolute no brainer. Hopefully, it will be alleviated soon and everyone will be allowed to marry and divorce equally!” Neil Patrick Harris and his partner David Burtka, Andy Cohen, Dan Stevens, and more swung through, grabbed a Champagne flute and a rainbow-hued macaron, and toasted to the cause with Calvin Klein’s creative directors, Francisco Costa (womenswear) and Italo Zucchelli (menswear). “The company has taken upon this cause, and it’s really important to us,” said Costa, shown above with Thurman. “It makes us feel proud.” Go pride!
