The ladies may have stolen the show in red, but the men gave them a run for their money! Best Supporting Actor nominee Leonardo DiCaprio looked handsome in a classic black tie tuxedo by Tom Ford, Ben Affleck, who won Best Director and Best Picture for Argo, chose an unconventional navy three-piece tux, Bradley Cooper, Best Actor in a Drama nominee for Silver Linings Playbook, also wore a Tom Ford suit, and presenter Robert Pattinson went with his go-to red carpet designer, Gucci.

Bradley Cooper’s Awards Season Prep Routine: Soap and Water

Jan 13, 2013 @ 12:00 pm

How is the Sexiest Man Alive, Bradley Cooper, getting ready for the Golden Globes tonight? “It’s so simple, I only use soap and water,” the Silver Linings Playbook star and Golden Globes Best Actor nominee said at yesterday’s BAFTA Tea Party, held at the Four Seasons Beverly Hills. He’s as minimal about his prep routine as he is about his wardrobe, too: “I dress up on the red carpet as that’s the way I was brought up,” the star said. “I can always here my dad’s voice saying ‘Put on a nice suit!’” Overall, he says his awards season experience is memorable, no matter what. “I am just enjoying it all, of course, because it may never happen again!

“Good things happen to good people!” Bradley Cooper (in Gucci) said as he accepted the Best Actor award for his role in Silver Linings Playbook at last night’s National Board of Review Awards. And he couldn’t have been more right for the good people who filled the ballroom at Cipriani 42nd Street in Manhattan for the three-hour ceremony, hosted by the ever-charismatic Meredith Vieira (who hilariously made jokes about her age, her thighs, and her dream dates with Mr. Bond, Daniel Craig, who sat in the audience). The night’s list of winners included Best Actress Jessica Chastain (in Alexander McQueen) for Zero Dark Thirty, Best Supporting Actor Leonardo DiCaprio for Django Unchained, and the Les Miserables stars Anne Hathaway (in Saint Laurent) and Amanda Seyfried (in Bottega Veneta), who jointly accepted the Best Ensemble Award. “We haven’t really hung out since the movie, so it’s kind of nice,” our InStyle cover girl said of getting back together with her cast-mates, just two of the 204-member ensemble. “It’s been a really long vacation, and now it’s back to work. But at the same time, it’s nighttime, we get free food, and we get to reminisce!” Click through the gallery to see more photos from the gala (and more shots from this week’s biggest parties), and visit nbrmp.org to see the full list of winners.

Silver Linings Playbook Out Today: Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper Talk Dance Moves

Here’s a film you’re going to want to see this Thanksgiving weekend: Silver Linings Playbook, starring Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence, which hits theaters nationwide today. InStyle.com caught up with the pair—who play Pat, a recently released mental patient with bipolar disorder who is back living at home with his parents, and Tiffany, a mysterious girl he meets in a dance class—at the Toronto International Film Festival in September to chat about how their dance moves influenced their chemistry on screen. “It was the best way to get to know each other,” Lawrence told InStyle.com of her groove sessions with Cooper. “We both went through the fire together with this dance,” Cooper added. “We started just sweaty and not knowing each other, and had to touch each other’s sweaty armpits. And then we’re in front of Robert DeNiro and 500 other people actually performing the dance!” Though, that actually helped their relationship. “All we had was each other, and we just trusted each other,” he said. “It was the best.” But you can watch for yourself; click here to find out where to see the film near you.
