Beyoncé’s $1,200 Shoes Left the Designer Starstruck

Nicholas Kirkwood’s shoes have appeared on the feet of some of the hottest names in entertainment, but he still got a little starstruck when he saw that Beyoncé wore his glitter satin sandals ($1,265 at mytheresa.com) to a dinner hosted by Michelle Obama. “I think Beyoncé looked great!” the designer told us at the opening of his Manhattan store. “How could you not be excited to see Beyoncé in your shoes?” While Beyoncé is a pro at walking in high heels, Kirkwood knows that every woman has their own heel height preference. “Heels can be quite wibbly wobbly,” he said. “Some of my clients can literally wear them all day. Some girls are so used to wearing heels it’s almost more painful to wear flats.” Tell us: Do you prefer heels or flats?

Beyoncé Blue Nail Polishes: Her Manicurist Tells InStyle the Exact Shades

Beyoncé has tried an array of blue nail polishes lately—from robin’s egg to sapphire—which is why we caught up with her manicurist Lisa Logan to get the details on Bey’s favorite hue. “Blue is a great color, and it looks amazing on Beyoncé,” she told InStyle.com exclusively. “We always have a variety to choose from.” So, are her azure lacquers a tribute to her new daughter, Blue Ivy? “That’s up to anyone to decide!” Logan said playfully. “It is a pretty color, though, and Beyoncé wears it well.” Check out four lacquers worn by the star in the gallery, and find out why her manicurist picked each shade.

People Magazine just crowned Beyoncé 2012′s Most Beautiful Woman, and the 30-year-old pop superstar credits her daughter Blue Ivy for her gorgeous glow. “I feel more beautiful than I’ve ever felt because I’ve given birth,” she told People. “I have never felt so connected, never felt like I had such a purpose on this earth.” This marks the ninth time the new mom has made the issue, which hits newsstands Friday, and the top ten list also includes Kate Middleton, Christina Hendricks, and our April cover girl Sofia Vergara. Congratulations, ladies!
