Celebrity Halloween Costumes 2012: Bette Midler as Coco Chanel, Neil Patrick Harris Heads to Oz, and More!

Halloweek is over, and it’s been filled with some spook-tacular celebrity costumes and star-studded soirees like Bette Midler‘s annual New York Restoration Project “Hulaween” party. “En Francaise,” the theme of this year’s bash, had The Divine Miss M looking trés chic as she paid homage to Coco Chanel in the late French fashion designer’s trademarks: pearls, tweed, and two-tone heels. Debbie Harry, who performed, was a Moulin Rouge cancan dancer (complete with feather tail!). Meanwhile, Neil Patrick Harris, David Burtka, and their twins appeared ready for some yellow brick road trick-or-treating—the family dressed up as characters from The Wizard of Oz. Click through the gallery below to see more stars in costume!

Michael Kors Receives the Golden Heart Lifetime Achievement Award

“His kindness is overflowing!” Bette Midler told InStyle.com of pal Michael Kors at last night’s Golden Heart Awards, hosted by God’s Love We Deliver in New York City, where Kors was honored with the Lifetime Achievement award for his contributions to the organization. “You can see it because he won this award, which is not an easy thing to win.” His contributions really took over the evening: After dressing many of the guests, which included Olivia Munn, Gwyneth Paltrow, Seth Meyers, Brooklyn Decker, and Patti Hansen—“Dealing with the rain and looking this glamorous is not easy!” he told us of the rain-soaked evening—the designer and honoree donated another $5 million to the non-profit, which delivers fresh meals to people living with HIV/AIDS and other diagnoses. “Doing something nice for absolutely no reason at all is the best act of kindness,” Kors added. Glee and The New Normal creator Ryan Murphy also took the stage to accept the Community Service Award. “I’m so thrilled to be a part of it,” he told InStyle.com. Bette Midler’s Iconic Outfits Going Up for Auction!

Bette Midler is auctioning off her most iconic outfits! The sale is set to take place at Julien’s Auctions in Beverly Hills, and highlights include one of her famous mermaid costumes (shown), the Valentino gown she wore to the 1992 Oscars, and loads of Bob Mackie stagewear. The Divine Miss M will donate a portion of the proceeds to the New York Restoration Project, a non-profit she created in 1995 to restore small parks and community gardens in New York City.
