BET Awards 2012: Beyonce Earns 6 Nominations

Beyonce—new mom, People‘s most beautiful, and Tumblr extraordinaire—is nominated for six BET Awards this year! Best Female R&B Artist, Video of the Year for “Countdown” and “Love on Top,” and Video Director of the Year are among her list of nominations. The winners will be announced on July 1st. 2011 BET Awards Photos: What Everyone Wore!

Summer brights were a popular style choice at the BET Awards in Los Angeles last night. Kerry Washington beamed in an acid green Michael Kors silk column gown with a sexy keyhole neckline. Meanwhile, two-thirds of the former Destiny’s Child group—Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland—both chose vivid hues, Williams in an amethyst BCBG Max Azria dress and Rowland in a fuchsia Notte by Marchesa look with a ruffle detail. Last night, the 10th annual BET Awards were hosted by Queen Latifah. As if following her “royal” example, the stars in attendance showed up swathed in embellished frocks, killer platform pumps and occasional pops of jewel-toned color. Winners included Alicia Keys, who performed (and showed off her baby bump) in purple satin, Beyonce (who won for her duet with Lady Gaga on “Video Phone”), and up-and-coming star Keke Palmer (who currently has a gig on Nickelodeon). Other fashion highlights included Cassie‘s bandeau top/high-waisted pants combo, Ciara‘s military-inspired fringed Balmain dress, and Estelle’s blush long-sleeved mini, atop which she piled several chain necklaces.
