Elisabeth Moss Is Blonde Again + See More Celebrity Hair Makeovers

May 22, 2013 @ 1:00 pm

Peggy Olsen, is that you? A far cry from the retro coiffs she sports on Mad Men, Elisabeth Moss unveiled her new blonde hair at an appearance for Live With Kelly and Michael in New York City. Moss is no stranger to the lighter hue; she went for a platinum pixie last year and confirmed that blondes really do have more fun—in the wardrobe department, that is. “What’s great about being blonde is that you can wear any color, even darker colors,” she told InStyle.com previously. “Blond hair is almost like an accessory in itself.” We’re glad she decided to revisit the look! What do you think of her new hair? Tell us in the comments.

How to Maintain Your Blond Hair Color Like Anne Hathaway and Demi Lovato

May 17, 2013 @ 8:30 am

Just when we thought auburn was the must-have hue this season, celebrities like Anne Hathaway, Drew Barrymore, Reese Witherspoon, and Demi Lovato changed the game by unveiling sunny blonde makeovers. After a brief stint as a brunette, Witherspoon returned to her famous golden highlights, joining Barrymore, Hathaway, and Lovato in the trend. If you’re considering doing the same, be sure to load up on the deep conditioner afterwards to minimize damage. Brassy tones are the sworn enemy of blonde hair, so to prevent any shifts in shade, incorporate a blue or purple-tinted shampoo and conditioner into your routine. The cool pigments neutralize unexpected orange or yellow shades, and keep your highlights going strong until your next salon appointment. Our favorites are Clairol’s Shimmer Lights ($9; sallybeauty.com), Sachajuan’s Silver Shampoo ($28; sephora.com), and Rita Hazan’s Foaming Color Gloss ($26; ritahazan.com).

How to Temporarily Switch Your Highlights Color Like Kerry Washington

May 10, 2013 @ 2:45 pm

That was fast! Only days after sporting dark purple streaks at the Met Ball, Kerry Washington stepped out in gorgeous caramel highlights at the Los Angeles premiere of her new flick, Peeples. Since the change happened so quickly, we’re thinking that the violet additions were created by swiping a temporary hair color over her tawny highlights. Try out the look yourself by spritzing Rita Hazan’s Pop Color ($18; sephora.com) onto individual pieces, or tint small sections using a liquid version like Streekers ($12; ulta.com). Or, you could opt for clip-in pieces like HairUWear’s ($10; ulta.com) so you can switch things up depending on your mood.

The Hangover boys Zach Galifianakis, Bradley Cooper, and Ed Helms had the nation in stitches after their hilarious impersonations of Jennifer Aniston—and her famous hair!—for the Jennifer Aniston Look-alike Competition skit on Saturday Night Live last week. So, when we caught up with the superstar at the launch for her Living Proof’s new web series, we had to find out what she thought of their work. “I thought it was very funny,” Aniston told InStyle.com. “I’ve never been imitated before. I remember watching and going, ‘Is that what I do? Do I do that?’ It was hysterical.” Scroll down to watch the skit and laugh along.  More
