Fall is almost here (Sunday marks the official start), and while we’re sad to bid summer goodbye, we’re even more excited to break out our new seasonal clothes and rock a bold burgundy lip. Of course, nothing rings in the start of autumn like the perfect fall candle, which is why we rounded up the five best versions to light up while the weather cools down! Swap the light floral and fruit versions we burned throughout summer for Moroccanoil’s rich blend of vanilla, amber, and musk, or spice up your apartment with Voluspa’s mix of ripe pomegranate berry and heady patchouli. New Fragrance News! A Toast-Scented Perfume Exists, and Bottega Veneta Expands On Their Signature SpritzerSep 19, 2013 @ 5:12 pm
The fragrance world is getting busy with all the new fall items hitting store shelves, and in the weirdest launch we’ve seen yet, a toast-scented perfume made its debut at London Fashion Week. The fragrance, aptly-named Eau De Toast, was created by the UK Federation of Bakers, and contains notes of caramel, malt — and of course, bread. We’ve seen fragrances inspired by sunscreen and paper before, but toast definitely brings a new sort of gourmand scent to the table. A study published in the Journal of Social Psychology found that the smell of freshly-baked bread caused people to act kinder toward strangers, and while we’re not sure if Eau De Toast’s aroma will prompt someone to offer you their seat on the bus or train, you can request a sample at bakersfederation.org.uk to find out for yourself. But if smelling like a bakery isn’t your thing, Bottega Veneta is offering up an opulent way to layer their signature scent with their Luxury Bath Collection. The range includes a body scrub, body oil, and shimmering body powder, each bearing the same plum, pink pepper, and jasmine sambac notes of the original fragrance. Additionally, a hair mist will be available exclusively at Bottega Veneta boutiques. Find the Luxury Bath Collection at specialty stores and Bottega Veneta boutiques starting next month, priced from $60 to $95!

Looks like Olivia Wilde can now add Avon lady to her growing resume! The actress teamed up with the famed brand as the celebrity face of their Today. Tomorrow. Always. scent collection, which includes three versatile fragrances. “I like the sensual floral notes in each of the fragrances,” Wilde told InStyle.com exclusively. “The Today. Tomorrow. Always. collection evokes feelings of true love, and what’s more timeless than love? I am excited to be the face, and getting the chance to partner with Avon on one of their most-timeless fragrance series. It’s been almost a decade since the first fragrance in the collection launched, and it’s still going strong!” The trio includes Today , an airy blend of white florals, Tomorrow, a sexy floriental with African violet, amber, and raspberry, and Forever, a fun mix of pink pepper, musk, and orange blossom. While Wilde shot campaign images for each scent, the shoreside setting for the Today fragrance (above) was the most memorable. “I loved dancing around the beach in Malibu,” she told us. Wilde, who is also engaged to Jason Sudekis, hinted that the fragrances are perfect for brides-to-be. “All three fragrances in the collection are romantic in their own right,” she said. “I think any one of them would be a perfect complement to a celebration of love!” Does this mean she’ll be wearing one for her walk down the aisle? Possibly! Shop the scents for $30 each at avon.com, then scroll down to see another exclusive shot from Olivia’s campaign. More
In a move that challenges Elizabeth Taylor‘s title as the reigning queen of celebrity perfumes, Jennifer Lopez will roll out her 20th fragrance next month! For her latest scent-sational endeavor, Lopez channeled her wild side to create JLove ($49; kohls.com in October), a sensual mix of white raspberry, pineapple, coconut orchid, and Tahitian tiare flower housed in a leopard-printed flacon. “With number 20, it’s a landmark. It’s such a big part of who I am. We decided to call it JLove for that very reason,” she told WWD. While many of the singer’s fragrances had a limited run, a constant element was present in each. “I always want to put a musk base on it,” she noted. “I feel like it gives a nice sexiness at the bottom, no matter how fruity it gets at the top.” Launching 20 fragrances is no easy task, so to celebrate, we rounded up all of them to find out the subtle differences and the inspiration behind each. Keep an eye out for JLove once it hits Kohl’s stores in October, and click the photo to take a look at the star’s extensive fragrance family.
Avon recently tapped Megan Fox to be the face of its Instinct fragrance, a gig the actress took because of her own, well, instincts. “I have always been a fan of Avon because of the work that they do to support women’s causes, so it feels like a natural fit,” she told InStyle.com exclusively. As the face, she posed for sultry shots inspired by the sensual notes of the fragrance. “We shot in a lush, exotic setting—so perfect for the scent,” she said. And although the campaign shots are spicy, the fragrance is quite opposite: “I like that it is clean and fresh with floral and flirty notes,” says Fox. Avon’s Instinct fragrance isn’t available to purchase yet, but once it is Megan Fox imagines everyone will be clicking to buy. “Men will love the scent, it’s a sexy fragrance—they will definitely be comfortable buying this for the woman in their life and women will absolutely be buying this for themselves.” Head over to shop.avon.com and sign up to be notified when Instinct is available.

Could this be James Franco‘s most dapper role yet? We think so! To front Gucci‘s new Made to Measure scent, the actor channeled his inner Don Draper for the ’60s-inspired campaign above, which is very sophisticated, and very James Franco. “I try to be involved in things I believe in, projects I care about,” Franco told InStyle.com on why he chose to do the campaign. “I design my life in a way where my work is the same thing as what I love. That’s the statement I try to make.” We think he certainly made the point, and it helps that the scent is easy to love. The masculine blend of bergamot, nutmeg, juniper, and leather makes for a sexy mood-boost, and Franco agrees. “When I first put this scent on, I felt like a man,” he added. “Not only a man — a Made to Measure man.” Well put, James. Behind-the-Scenes at Robert Pattinson’s Dior Homme Campaign: Polished, Sexy and Classic, Just Like HimAug 20, 2013 @ 3:00 pm
We haven’t seen much of Robert Pattinson since the Golden Globes earlier this year, so seeing him in a sneak peek for his new Dior Homme cologne campaign is delightfully refreshing. Shot by artist Nan Goldin for Germany’s TUSH online, Pattinson’s video showcases behind-the-scenes snapshots, with New York City serving as the backdrop. The campaign will roll out in full starting in October, and if the teaser images are at all telling, we’re expecting it to be polished, sexy and classic — not unlike the scent’s amber, vetiver, and leather blend, or Rob himself for that matter. Watch the preview in the video above, and find the Dior Homme fragrance, priced from $60 to $80, at sephora.com.
