Found It! Dianna Agron’s Teal Eye Shadow

May 22, 2013 @ 4:30 pm

Myth busted! Bold eye shadow isn’t just for ’80s-themed parties, and the summery turquoise hue Dianna Agron wore is proof. We love how the unexpected pop of color doesn’t scream obvious, so we caught up with her makeup artist Gianpaolo Cecilato to find out how to rock bright eyes the right way. The trick? Define your eyes first, then layer the color on after. “I used the duo eye shadow by Dolce & Gabbana in Laguna to get the look,” he said. Cecilato began by running the brand’s eyeliner in Emerald ($30; sephora.com) along Agron’s waterline. He swept a thin coat of black cream liner at the base of her top lashes, then moved on to the shadow palette. “I applied the darker shadow up to the crease and blended it, and smudged the color along the bottom lashes from side to side,” he added. We love it! Pick up the shadow palette for $42 at sephora.com.

Elisabeth Moss Is Blonde Again + See More Celebrity Hair Makeovers

May 22, 2013 @ 1:00 pm

Peggy Olsen, is that you? A far cry from the retro coiffs she sports on Mad Men, Elisabeth Moss unveiled her new blonde hair at an appearance for Live With Kelly and Michael in New York City. Moss is no stranger to the lighter hue; she went for a platinum pixie last year and confirmed that blondes really do have more fun—in the wardrobe department, that is. “What’s great about being blonde is that you can wear any color, even darker colors,” she told InStyle.com previously. “Blond hair is almost like an accessory in itself.” We’re glad she decided to revisit the look! What do you think of her new hair? Tell us in the comments.

Found It! Selena Gomez’s Fuchsia Lipstick on InStyle’s June Cover

May 22, 2013 @ 10:45 am

Love Selena Gomez’s lipstick on InStyle’s June cover? It can be yours, thanks to some inside scoop from the makeup artist behind the look, Lisa Houghton. “I wanted her to look really fresh and radiant with a bright summery, modern edge,” Houghton told InStyle.com. “I went for a vibrant fuchsia pink lip rather than red, which looks great on her skin tone.” She ended up picking Nars Cosmetics’ Semi Matte Lipstick in Schiap. To soften the lipstick’s intense color, Houghton dabbed it on Gomez’s lips with her finger rather than a brush. “I pressed down quite hard to make the lipstick really matte and then cleaned the edges with a Q tip,” she explained. “This is a great way to apply lipstick if you’re not used to wearing bold color.” Pick up your own tube for $26 at narscosmetics.com.

Found It! Naomi Watts’ Raspberry Lipstick by Chanel

May 21, 2013 @ 1:30 pm

With a très chic atmosphere like the Cannes film festival, Naomi Watts‘ makeup artist Georgie Eisdell didn’t have to look far for inspiration. “I wanted to keep her makeup fresh with a little French influence,” she said on the star’s makeup from the For the Love of Cinema premiere. “Her lips were the main focus of this look.” Eisdell drew upon the red florals in Watts’ Dolce & Gabbana number and chose Chanel‘s Rouge Allure Velvet Matte Lip Color in La Sensuelle, a crimson-berry hybrid. Pick up a tube for $34 at chanel.com.

Found It! Eva Longoria’s Graphic Eyeliner

May 20, 2013 @ 6:30 pm

Eva Longoria brought the drama to the Cannes premiere of Le Passe by complementing her elegant Zuhair Murad number with an equally elegant cat eye. To create the look, Longoria’s makeup artist contoured her eyes using L’Oreal’s Colour Riche Quad in Army Brat ($8; lorealparisusa.com) and finished with a thick sweep of L’Oreal’s Voluminous Smoldering Eyeliner in black ($9; lorealparisusa.com). Getting the precise shape can be tricky, so we recommend looking down into your mirror as you apply the product. This helps you get the color as close to your lashes as possible, eliminating the risk of any telltale eyeliner gaps. Finally, use an angled cotton swab to bring the winged-out edges to a point.

See OPI’s New Minnie Mouse Nail Polishes!

May 20, 2013 @ 2:25 pm

Your manicure is about to get a lot cuter! To follow up on the success of last year’s classic Minnie Mouse lacquers, OPI is launching a second range of colors inspired by Disney’s most fashionable mascot. The Couture de Minnie collection is giving Minnie Mouse a high-fashion upgrade by including runway-ready hues and edgy textures. “This year, OPI is exploring a different side of Minnie Mouse,” said the brand’s Executive VP and Artistic Director Suzi Weiss-Fischmann. “The collection draws inspiration from Minnie’s iconic style and incorporates trends most recently seen on the runways.” We especially love the red and white glitter lacquer, which allows you to repurpose the icon’s polka-dotted skirt as nail art! The Couture de Minnie collection hits stores nationwide in June, priced at $9 per bottle, and a set of four mini-polishes is available now for $13 at ulta.com.
