How Jennifer Garner Protects Her Kids (and Husband Ben!) from the Sun

Mar 19, 2013 @ 12:13 pm

Spring starts tomorrow, and before you run into the sunshine, Jennifer Garner has a tip for you: Wear sunscreen. The actress makes sure she protects her entire family—including her three children with husband Ben Affleck—with a healthy dose every morning. “Sun care is such a big part of my family’s routine that if I’m not home, [my kids] will remind their dad to make sure they have it on,” Garner told InStyle.com at the Neutrogena Sun Summit in New York. “Sometimes they’re, like, ‘Mom!‘—and I don’t know any kid who isn’t—but you make it as fast and painless as possible.” And to do that, she recommends using spray-on sunscreen. “They’re fast easy, and they really do have great coverage, so we have those sprays everywhere. I have one in my purse, in my car, near the door before walking out, in the bedroom—everywhere!” For an easy-to-use spray sunscreen, try Neutrogena’s Ultra Sheer Body Mist ($8.49 at neutrogena.com) or Coppertone Sport Continuous Spray Ultra Sweatproof ($8 at walmart.com). For more sunscreen suggestions, see our favorites in the link below.

Diane Lane’s Under 5-Minute Beauty Routine

Mar 28, 2011 @ 1:34 pm

Diane Lane is Martha Kent! The actress, 46, will play Clark Kent’s adoptive mother in the new Superman: Man of Steel movie due in 2012, which also cast Henry Cavill as Superman and (recently announced) Amy Adams as Lois Lane. So how does Lane keep her skin superhero strong? Her secret: Under-five-minute tricks. “There aren’t enough hours in a day for me to spend time worrying or fussing over my skin,” Lane, the new face of Neutrogena’s retinol-packed Rapid Wrinkle Repair line, told InStyle exclusively. Other than using the brand’s anti-wrinkle formula, Lane said the key is a quick fix that lasts, like groomed eyebrows, manicured fingernails and a loose low bun. “My five-minute makeup routine consists of a touch of mascara paired with a natural lip gloss and a quick sweep of a blush/bronzer duo,” Lane said. “Getting instant gratification with how you look is never a bad thing.”

Vanessa Hudgens & Hayden Panettiere Look Great, Do Good

Jul 19, 2010 @ 10:22 am

Fresh-faced beauties and Neutrogena brand ambassadors Vanessa Hudgens and Hayden Panettiere hit the beach in L.A. this weekend to announce the Wave for Change campaign, a charitable initiative that encourages teens to vote on how $200,000 from the sales of two products, Wave Sonic Power-Cleaner and Oil-Free Acne Wash Pink Grapefruit, should be distributed. Through August 23rd, participants can take a quiz on the brand’s Facebook page to see what charities—from disaster relief to environmental causes—they want to support (all donations will take place through GlobalGiving.org). “Often people want to participate, but they don’t know how so the fact that Neutrogena is opening the door and kids are getting to be a part of something and help the world is amazing,” said Panettiere.
