To complement her blush-toned Julien Macdonald dress at the 2013 CMA Awards last night, Lucy Hale‘s makeup followed an amped-up neutral color scheme, which stood out on its own, but didn’t distract from her elegant gown. “We knew her makeup had to be glamorous, but not overpower the sweetness of her overall look,” said her makeup artist Kelsey Deenihan. “We decided a fresh look focusing on her eyes, and drew shadow inspiration from the colors of her dress.” Once Deenihan had created a flawless canvas, she added a slight contour using mark’s Powder Blush in Cameo, then blended the brand’s Wonder Glow All Over Face Palette ($9 and $16; meetmark.com) onto the apples of Hale’s cheeks. Moving onto her eyes, Deenihan picked up the two shadows on the far left side of mark’s 10 Year Anniversary Palette ($12; meetmark.com), and blended both onto the star’s lids. “For the inner corners of her eyes, I used the white shade on the far right,” the pro added. “The brightness in the corners allows the shadow to catch the light, and it makes Lucy’s eyes appear larger.” A sweep of liner and a generous amount of mark’s Scanda-Lash Mascara in Blackest Black ($11; meetmark.com) added subtle definition. Deenihan chose mark’s Make It Rich Lip Crayon in Naturally ($11; meetmark.com) as the finishing touch. “This sweet peachy-pink allowed the focus to be on her eyes, but also complements her dress and her overall look,” she said. Perfect!
From Les Misérables to Beauty Queen! Get Samantha Barks’ Gorgeous Makeup From the Cover Of mark. Cosmetics’ MagalogOct 3, 2013 @ 6:22 pm
After stealing the show with her stellar voice as Eponine in Les Misérables, Samantha Barks quickly became one of our style crushes, and now, she can add magazine cover girl to her list of growing accomplishments! The up-and-coming star is gracing the cover of mark. Cosmetics‘ latest holiday catalog, showcasing a flirty teal cat-eye, graphic nail art, and glowing skin. To create the look, makeup artist Jamie Greenberg used the Super Color Box Total Face Palette ($25; avon.com), one of the star’s favorite products, and the streamlined multi-tasker is perfect for Barks’ busy lifestyle. “Whether I’m home in London or away in Los Angeles, I’m constantly running around to auditions and appointments,” Barks told InStyle.com exclusively. “This palette is sized to tuck into my bag, yet holds enough shades that I can completely redo my makeup if I have to. It’s brilliant!” After a layer of Mark’s Get a Tint Tinted Moisturizer ($12; meetmark.com), Greenberg blended the candy pink blush from the palette onto the apples of her cheeks, then moved on to the eyes. “I applied the darkest purple eye shadow, found on the right side of the palette, onto her eyelids, and applied the dark green shade to her upper lash line,” she said. “This contrast complemented her skin tone beautifully.” Two coats of mascara pumped up the star’s lashes, while a swipe of shiny gloss provided the finishing touch. “To complete the look, I used the pink gloss shade from the palette on Samantha’s lips,” Greenberg added. “It tied the entire look together.” We love how the effect is trendy without being too fussy — and the fact that you only need one palette to recreate the look is a definite plus.

Kaley made these pink sweatshirts for us that said ‘Touchdown’ on the back and we brought t-shirts that said ‘Team Cuoco.’” We asked her how she gave Cuoco that pitch-perfect rosy complexion with a hint of shimmer. “I started by applying mark Min-A-Real Cream-to-Powder Foundation in Light Medium 5 ($18; meetmark.com) all over Kaley’s face, layering on Touch & Glow Shimmer Cream Cubes Face Palette ($16; meetmark.com), and Just Blushing Powder Blush in Lovespell ($9; meetmark.com) to create a gorgeous natural glow.” Click through the gallery for more exclusive photos and to see how to get the look!
