Anne Hathaway’s New Blonde Hair Color: All the Details

May 7, 2013 @ 10:00 am

Anne Hathaway is looking pretty in platinum! The star surprised everyone last night when she showed up to the 2013 Met Gala with her pixie dyed to a new icy blonde hue. “Drawing inspiration from unforgettable punk icons like Poly Styrene from X-Ray Spex and Joan Jett, I decided to go for a look that’s glam and edgy, yet youthful and fun,” her hairstylist Sascha Breuer said. “To enhance her punk look further, we decided to take her hair to the next level: A cool platinum blonde color!” Swapping shades just before hitting the red carpet? Now that’s punk rock! “We kept the style much shorter for Anne, and she had a lot of fun playing around with it,” he added. What do you think of her new look? Tell us your thoughts in the comments.

Found It! Anne Hathaway’s Chic Sunglasses and Classic Black Pumps

Mar 25, 2013 @ 5:30 pm

When Anne Hathaway opted for this monochromatic look, she accessorized her sleek Prada sheath with Karen Walker’s Anywhere sunglasses ($280; gargyle.com) and Aldo’s sky-high Prue pumps ($80; aldoshoes.com). The secret to Hathaway’s easygoing stride? Despite the heel height, a nearly two-inch platform takes the pressure off her tootsies.

That’s a wrap! Awards season officially came to a close following Sunday night’s Oscars, but we’re already eager to recreate the winning nail looks we’ve spotted. We put together a list of the 25 best manicures from the Golden Globes, Grammys, Oscars, and every ceremony in between! Jessica Alba kicked off the nail game on a high note at the Globes, pairing her citrus-toned dress with a pastel pink lacquer, while Rihanna and Anne Hathaway matched their manis to their couture ensembles. Hathaway in particular has opted for fun and creative designs each time she hit the red carpet—at the Oscars, her pale rose nails were inscribed with the initials of her maternal and paternal grandmothers. Looks like the reigning nail art queen Zooey Deschanel has some competition! Click through for more manicure inspiration.

The 85th Academy Awards red carpet spotlighted a few key fashion trends: pastels, sparkling metallics, and, perhaps most prominently, the statement back. We first noticed it on Anne Hathaway (middle), who stunned in a tie-backed pink satin column by Prada (and a dangling Tiffany & Co. necklace) when she picked up her statue for Best Supporting Actress. Stacy Keibler (right) also rocked a sheer back on her Naeem Khan gown, and Renée Zellweger dared to bare in a Carolina Herrera gown with a plunging back and contrasting bow ties. Sexy is back—literally!
