Jennifer Lawrence Looks Great in Color

Jennifer Lawrence likes to wear her fair share of LBDs (honestly, who doesn’t?), though we’d like to take a moment to point out that this young star looks great in color—any color. The Hunger Games leading lady headed to last year’s SAG Awards in hot pink Oscar de la Renta, hit last week’s Berlin premiere of her action movie in red Marchesa, shimmered in gold Prabal Gurung at the Los Angeles Games premiere, stepped out in forest green Calvin Klein in New York last night, presented at the People’s Choice Awards in electric blue Viktor & Rolf, and spoke with David Letterman in navy-violet Altuzarra. For someone who usually likes neutrals, bright hues suit her well! Tell us: What’s your favorite color to wear?

Plus, see Jennifer Lawrence’s best outfits ever in the gallery.

Runway Looks We Love: Altuzarra

Feb 12, 2012 @ 5:00 pm

Altuzarra’s fall 2012 collection in two words: Gypsy chic. The collection gave off a head-to-toe modern Moroccan vibe from the shearling toggle coats and velvet blazers. Even the carpets covering the runway incorporated the feeling, having been imported from Marrakesh. Gold medallions dripped off the evening gowns, which created a melodic sound as they moved, and footwear designer Gianvito Rossi custom designed the tall, sometimes thigh-high boots for the show. See our favorite looks from the show in the gallery now!

One to Watch: Joseph Altuzarra

Nov 15, 2011 @ 2:50 pm

Congratulations, Joseph Altuzarra! The designer took home the Council of Fashion Designers of America’s Fashion Fund grand prize last night, which means he pocketed $300,000 to put towards his line. (Sophie Theallet, Billy Reid, and Alexander Wang all won the honor in years past.) Since launching his label in 2009, Altuzarra has turned out sexy, form-fitting clothes which have been snapped up by celebrity fans like Jennifer Lawrence and Kim Kardashian. We can’t wait to see what he creates with his new pot of gold—and who wears his designs next on the red carpet. Altuzarra’s Resort Collection: See the Photos!

Jun 18, 2011 @ 1:00 pm

Altuzarra‘s 2012 resort collection was full of chic basics with a French twist. “I was inspired by the idea of Brigitte Bardot in St. Tropez, but in a very urban and modern way of dressing,” designer Joseph Altuzarra said of his latest offerings. This translated into an assortment of crisp white eyelet and gauzy chiffon mixed with undeniably sexy leather dresses and jackets.
