Oscar Winner Jennifer Lawrence Models for Dior: Behind-the-Scenes

Feb 26, 2013 @ 4:22 pm

Oh, to be Jennifer Lawrence! She picked up a Best Actress Oscar Sunday night—while sitting two seats away from her handsome co-star Bradley Cooper—and she got to do it in a pale rose Dior Haute Couture princess dress. Not to mention she stars in the ultra-glamorous shoot for the brand’s Miss Dior handbags, a behind-the-scenes peek at which Dior just released. “Dior represents beauty and strength in women, and that’s how I feel when I’m wearing his clothes,” Lawrence said while posing with the brand’s pastel chain totes. “It just makes you feel so confident.” Our girl crush is firmly cemented.

Just minutes away from the Dolby Theatre, where the 85th Academy Awards were held, there was another celebration going on—InStyle‘s annual Oscar viewing party! The guest list at BOA Steakhouse in West Hollywood included Jesse Tyler Ferguson and his fiance, Justin Mikita (both in Hugo Boss), Kat Graham (in Dolce & Gabbana), Jessica Szohr (in Reformation), and more, snacking on steak sandwiches and sipping Beluga Noble Vodka mixed drinks to watch all the action, both fashion and film. One very big fan of Best Actress winner Jennifer Lawrence also swung by, Hunger Games co-star Alexander Ludwig. “I was blown away, but I totally expected it. She, of all people, deserved it,” said Ludwig (in Armani), who stood up and cheered as soon as he heard her name. “She’s one of the most classy and incredible, exceptional people I’ve ever met. I’m so happy for her. The second I heard her name, I texted her!” And he also had a winning moment himself, predicting enough right answers for InStyle‘s Academy Awards ballot contest to take home the grand prize, a luxury stay at the Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills. Miranda Kerr’s Stylist Shares This Fashion Tip: “Let’s Not Discount a Beautiful Black Dress”

Feb 25, 2013 @ 2:20 pm

Miranda Kerr is always at the top of our Look of the Day list—and it’s all thanks to stylist Jessica Paster! The woman behind all of Miranda’s major style moments—including the slit-up-to-there Zuhair Murad stunner she wore to InStyle‘s Golden Globes party—also helped her pick out the perfect dress for the Oscars after-parties, and their ultimate choice came with some great advice. “You know, let’s not discount a beautiful black dress,” Paster told us over the phone while skimming couture racks for her famous client. “Because some dresses are not just a beautiful black dress. Some dresses are just gorgeous dresses that just happen to be black.” Especially if the black dress in question is silk chiffon Valentino like Miranda’s! “I think that if you really know your client and you see a beautiful dress, you just know that they’re a perfect match for each other,” Paster added. So remember, ladies: There’s nothing basic about black!

Feb 24, 2013 @ 3:00 pm

Thirty minutes after getting off a plane from Atlanta, Nina Dobrev hit the beachside red carpet at the Film Independent Spirit Awards in Santa Monica—there to support her Best First Feature-winning film The Perks of Being a Wallflower—looking perfectly polished in a Michael Kors shorts and embellished tank ensemble. Not far away was Jennifer Lawrence, clad in Lanvin, and Dobrev told us Lawrence is the one person she’s most looking forward to seeing on the Oscars red carpet. “I think she’s going to win, so I’d love to know what the Best Actress is going to be wearing!” Dobrev told InStyle.com. “Her whole attitude is very unapologetic. That’s cool. That’s how it should be. A confident woman is the most attractive woman.” With the red carpet just hours away—who are you most looking forward to seeing?
